Northern Va Body Shops - HAULN-SS - 06-18-2019

Thought we had a thread, but I can't find it....

Two things - I need to get some PDR and/or panel replacement done on the Cadillac due to a hail storm that blew through the other day. I have State Farm, it is covered, but I don't have to take it to a preferred state farm place. Any recommendations? I was thinking Matchless Auto body in Vienna since that is close to the house and has good yelp reviews.

Next - I want to get the truck painted. It's a 1999 F250 and not perfect. I have new doors to hang on it to solve some rust problems, but I want the whole thing to be sanded down and given at 5-10ft paintjob in Black. Basically just want it good enough to avoid having overspray and tape lines and shit everywhere. Any recommendations within 50 miles for that sort of thing?

For good work, matchless is good and i've also used automotive quality solutions in ashburn.

If you want a 10' black paintjob, have I got the Maaco for you.

They just did my racecar, and will do anything in single-stage paint (of your color choice) for cheap. The BMW was $525 (I removed door moldings, otherwise they prepped) but I suspect the truck may cost a bit more given the size. Regardless, call Maaco of Winchester and tell them Jake with the purple racecar sent you.

Matchless for the PDR... they have done good work for my family in the past.

Maaco in Wincehster did my race car. if you hang the doors you will save yourself a the price of painting. i think it was $250 to prep and hang the door... but i was on a time crunch so i sent it. overall i am happy with how things turned out. they shot a single stage pearl and i think there was one small area that was "not the best"... but they did an amazing job getting 15 years of racing out of the unibody. they will be getting the new front/rear bumper and trunk to pain over the winter. if i had my old F150 still, they would get it to paint. their paint job is cheaper than a DIY bedliner on the whole truck lol

Does their prep before spray take care of smoothing out stuff like chips in the paint down to metal, or sanding over surface rust, or do they just shoot right over that? I.e. how much prep should I do myself?

id talk to them about what you want. they can do it all... but I did find one chip they just sprayed over. they will seal surface rust and prep as needed.

maaco is a franchise and these guys can do whatever you need. the Winchester guys use PPG products.

Terry's Auto Body in Purcellville is where I always had my body work done. I knew Terry and his son really well and they always treated me and everyone else great. They were the preferred body shop of the local Subaru dealers back in the day. I realize that's not close to Vienna, but they are excellent

How did this end up? I have a couple spots on the M5 I need re-done and curious if you had a good experience anywhere...

Ah - yeah, they did a great job! The PDR was flawless before all of a week later when a MFing umbrella blew into the side of my car and dented the shit out of it again.
