Starz and Stripez bitches! - Evan - 10-15-2004

I spent this morning at Piper Motorsports getting a custom mount for my new Sparco Evo. The seat itself was bought off ebay a couple months ago for a killer deal.

The goal of the custom install was to get the seat as low as possible while still installing sliders, to allow for shorter people to drive the car (when Im in the mood to share Wink )
Doing a direct floorpan bolt on would have saved me about an inch. (a huge difference) but the adjustability should be worth it.

Mitch cut out the humps in the floorpan that the stock seats bolt to and fabricated a mount by welding a set of sparco sliders.

its not 100% perfect, but overall Im happy with the install. I think it was the best possible solution for the requirements of a slider, and cramming my lanky ass in a miata.

my guess? "don't ask." Tongue mitch is a pretty busy guy, i know i wouldn't want to foot the bill for some 1 on 1 time with him... maeng's mom on the other hand...

Sweet, so when do I get to drive it?

Piper's fab work is t3h shizzle, they took my corbeau seat base/sparco sidemount brackets there, andt they had to cut and re-weld the sidemount brakets to make it work.

Mounting both seats + harness install (with all the hardware) was $180 for me.

a tad under $300 for the one seat.

its gratifying when one of the most respected fabricators in the country personally works on your lowly miata while a 150k Porsche sits in the corner neglected. Big Grin
