Updated with Prices.

Anyone have suggestions on how to get the shell out of my garage? I've called a few places and had little success.

Tuck, trailer, dollies. Take that bitch to the scrap yard. I was wondering how you planned to get rid of the shell...

Or put it as free scrap on CL if you haul. You may find a scrapper who will come yank it out of there for free.

the cost of the scrap wouldnt cover the fuel for the tow truck

It's posted on Craigslist and Facebook for free.

The person I pulled the motor for offered to pay to have it towed away, but I'd like to find a better solution before wasting someone's money.

All for being the, "good guy," but seriously, take them up on it before they reconsider unless you really enjoy not having that garage space.

Does the shell have a title? Cause if not, break out the sawzall buddy buddy. You can’t just tow a shell to a junkyard without a title.

RE: WTS: 1987 325i Sedan Part out - Senor_Taylor - 09-26-2018

It has a clean title.

Yeah, I'll have the discussion with them if Zach doesn't make an progress calling around places today.

2 scrap metal places in the Merrifield/ Fairfax area. RRT and Milestone. (milestone gets better reviews)
Not sure if they take car shells, but its worth a call, and it would be a shorter tow if that guy is paying.

WTS: 1987 325i Sedan Part out - D_Eclipse9916 - 09-27-2018

RRT is not a scrapyard metal place. Throw it on a trailer at Potomac recycling in Sterling, they weigh it, push off trailer, weigh again. Enjoy the $32 of scrap metal money to pay for your gas there and back.

WTS: 1987 325i Sedan Part out - Senor_Taylor - 09-27-2018

Thanks for the tips, everyone. I don't have access to a trailer or truck and don't want to tear up Tians, so I just called a place to come get it on Saturday.

Really appreciate the information. It'll surely be useful in the future!
