closest dyno? - JackoliciousLegs - 10-14-2004

where is it?

- .RJ - 10-14-2004

Ask Neil - a racer friend of his has a shop with a dyno thats not too far away (within an hour I'd guess).

- KPWSerpiente - 10-14-2004

Howards shop AR Fabrication is 55 miles away.

I'm not sure what your ruch to dyno is Jack but there are a lot of places you can take it to.

Autothority on Pickett road in NoVa (Fairfax), too.

They might be a bit more expensive, though, I'm not sure.

- Kaan - 10-14-2004

well... whatever dyno you start using... you should stick with because your baseline will stay true to all your tuning.

- .RJ - 10-14-2004

mustang > dynojet

- Kaan - 10-14-2004

the dynopack 3000 was a nice dyno. they told me why they chose this dyno over others... made sence. its a really conservative dyno though. so you wont put up huge numbers unless you really have huge numbers.

There's an AWD Dyno in Sterling VA at MachV Motorsports/Ultimate Performance, just fyi.

Good guys, too... the owner lives down the street from me.

- Andy - 10-14-2004

Ultimate is cool, so is Inline Pro, though they specialize in Hondacura. I wouldn't go to Authority, they're jackasses unless you own a Porsche. Literally. They claim to specialize in Porsche/Audi. I've heard horror stories.

- KPWSerpiente - 10-15-2004

I already talked extensively with jack about this. He is a lamo and doesn't want to put miles on the turboII, so any of the good FFx shops are out...including Ultimate/MachV, I know both Brian and Dan and could probably have swung something for you Jack, but this is all your call.

I know the rest of you punks want to dyno your cars as well.. I'm thinking sometime over winter about organizing a dyno day so we can all bang out some numbers.

120 whp punk! don't act like ya ain't skurred!

in all seriousness, i'd do it, it would be alot of fun, especially since we tend to recognize each other by our cars...this would just help us get to know each other and our rides better. if more of us went maybe the rate per person would go down. Idea

- KPWSerpiente - 10-15-2004

Uh yeah man...of course group rates are offered. But I'm not ready for the dyno just yet.....got to wait for the cams and???

I'm definitely down for a dyno day - I should get a baseline on the Z before cranking up the b00st

- Kaan - 10-15-2004

my last two trips to the dyno provided information oh how my motor was running. The dead motor before it died was running rich... but this new motor, that puts down more power, is also running richer. the first motor had a bad O2, and threw a code, but the new motor does not. i bought an air fuel controler in hopes to get the more powerful (i broke 100) motor to stop sucking down gas. AND maybe i'll get more HP. we'll see.

- Mike - 10-15-2004

i'm in for a dyno day... and jack is a pussy. i wonder if they even make a dyno that can handle my gobs of power?

- .RJ - 10-15-2004

Jack is definately a pussy. He should give me his car.
