I finally listened to everyone yelling at me to sell the forester before it ruined my life like it has to so many others before me. Its been gone about a week and I was actually really sad seeing it keep going after I took the exit back home. Hopefully its in a better place now since the guy has plans to put a big turbo and manual swap it like I always said I would one day (lol RIP to him).

I wasn't really sure what I wanted out of my next car other than smaller and more power than the FXT. Parents wanted me to get something newer and said I need to "grow up" and "get a normal car" since I'm in grad school now since they thought I turned my automatic 200hp Subaru into a race car.

I had looked into a f30 328i in manual nearby but it was kinda meh especially in silver. Then I test drove a '16 GTI and really, really liked it, but the only problem was I had test drove this about an hour earlier. I wasn't sure about a 1 series since something looked off in the pictures I saw of them, but the GroupMe convinced me to go look at one and as soon as I saw this one in this color I was sold. This thing was so clean inside and out I feel bad about parking it outside.

The dealer I got it from is a guy linked to a local place that does it on the side and picked this up off a trade in at a Porsche dealer, then loved it so much he kept it and drove it for about a year. It was up for about 4 days before I drove it last Saturday and 2 other people had already come to look, so I pulled the trigger that Monday.

Last year 135is with only 46k on the clock. Le-mans (i think) blue with black interior and blue stitching. Its got a lot of options including Idrive and nav except the comfort access which wasn't a deal breaker. As long as it had the M-sport package and sport seats I was good. It also has what the dealer said was a "Dinan exhaust, intake, and stage 3 tune" but I don't think any of those are correct. I'm gonna get pictures of the exhaust tomorrow but it says Dinan nowhere on it, and the intake looks stock BMW to me. I can always send Dinan the VIN and see if it's got a tune registered to it from them. This thing is fast as hell but a Dinan stage 3 puts it at ~370hp and ~400 torque according to their website and I don't think its THAT ridiculously fast. Its also lowered about 1" on springs which I'm fine with, looks good and doesn't rub. More importantly it doesn't have the shit run-flats anymore.

This thing is an absolute rocket compared to what I'm used to and screams the whole time. Steering and ride feels amazing but I haven't got it out in the twisties yet. The sport seats carress my love-handles in all the right ways and the stereo is one of the better stock systems I've heard for a while. Off throttle/feathering it has tons of pops and burbles. Idk how I'm gonna drive this every day without keeping a spare set of pants with me.

Plan is keep it pretty much as-is until I get out of grad school, then we'll see. Ordering a tow-hook license plate frame since although I'm in NC for school, its still gonna be a VA title/reg. Hopefully will tint before it gets too hot here, and I'm looking for some affordable halo bulbs that get the whiter look compared to the yellowish they are now that won't throw any codes. I'm also looking into being able to code stuff like what Justin's done on his wagon but I'm not sure if my car is new enough for all that. It does have the TPMS light on since apparently these aren't the original wheels or they just didn't do the TPMS with the new tires and that can be coded out, along with closing windows with the fob since currently I can only open them with it, and a few other goodies.

Love it!! You can absolutely code a lot of things into the E82. Same deal as what Justin did, and the same cheapo nav maps update applies here as well.

Those are the correct wheels for a 135is - I would spend the money to get TPMS working. It is a good system and smart enough to tell you which tire is low/flat vs just "panic mode."

Ohhh I like that color and wheel combo. Very nice.

And if you have metal valve stems, you should be able to read tire temp with those sensors after coding.

Nice. Shoulda bought mine Smile

Incredibly fun cars. My 135i was one of my favorite cars I've owned. They would be just about perfect with a LSD from the factory.

I'm still salty that BMW didn't make more of the 1M's. I would have definitely bought one of those if the prices were reasonable.

best color there is on that car.  continue with the MM BMW takeover, i feel like we're almost at critical mass

Man that's gotta be worlds apart from the scoobs.  Congrats!

They are so choice with those M bumpers.

I for one will have zero complaints if MM transitions fully to BMW and GTI ownership.

RE: 2013 BMW 135is - RawrImAMonster - 04-19-2018

There has never been a point in MM as long as I've been involved that there weren't a ton of BMW's. I might have to buck the trend a little before too long. At least until M2's become affordable.

Good to know about the coding, time to do some research once I'm done with finals and see what all I can play with.
Yea I knew they were the correct wheels, but the dealer tried to tell me they were not the originals. Neither of my last 2 cars have had functioning TPMS after I changed wheels so I'm in the habit of checking pressures pretty much every time I fill up, but if it needs new tires anytime soon I'll get the sensors then.

I was hoping yours would stick around long enough for me to sell the Subaru, but mine sold a few days after yours did unfortunately.

If I hadn't drove this one the same day, I'd probably be in a GTI right now.

BimmerCode, you can see what features are available on your car based off VIN

Looks like BimmerCode doesn''t support the e8x cars, just the f series. I know NCSexpert does but that looks like its something I could easily screw up. Already ordered the wifi obd2 adapter so hopefully it can work with other apps, but if not amazon should take it back.

2013 BMW 135is - GTBrandon - 04-19-2018

Nice! I didn’t think your dad would support anything German without a warranty but I’m glad he’s as naive as the rest of us!

Bring the car to costco and have them scan all four rims, they can tell you which sensor is dead so you can get rid of the light and monitor tire pressure/temperature in iDrive (pretty neat for the track)

RE: 2013 BMW 135is - ryangreen1 - 04-19-2018

My friend has a nice camera and has done some car photography before, mostly at rallies, but had offered to take pics. Updated the first post with some actual quality pictures and here's the google drive link for the rest. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1-FtCGy1E09sHbPpRqLp2xwqU00Eh2mUp?usp=sharing

Nice...that exhaust is definitely after market. The larger exhaust tips are a dead give away.

2013 BMW 135is - Sijray21 - 04-20-2018

So hot. Nice pick up! I drove RJ's before he sold it. It's a pocket rocket for sure. I really like that blue, too.
