G-Tech Accelerometers - Andy - 10-12-2004 What do you guys think of them? Are they worth it? Can we take a survey of who wants one and maybe we can all split the cost of one. The old models are on sale for 44.95. - mpg9999 - 10-12-2004 CCVT has one you can check out. Maybe something for you guys to consider. - KPWSerpiente - 10-13-2004 When we were talking on aim Andy I asked you, where you going to use it? How did that question no make sense? Find me a 1/3 of a mile straight away (room to brake) where we can test from a standstill without any problems and it could be useful. The traps speeds they indicate are off though, a real trap is an average of the last 66 feet of the strip. Those meters read high because they simply state the speed you ended the 1/4 mile at. -T - BLINGMW - 10-13-2004 where'd you find them for $44.95? Sold! - white_2kgt - 10-13-2004 they have a new RR version out now. http://www.gtechpro.com/rr.html $300 --chad - CaptainHenreh - 10-13-2004 BLINGMW Wrote:where'd you find them for $44.95? Sold! Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeebaaaaaaaaaaaay.... Clicky-Pow! - Andy - 10-14-2004 The RR's replace the older models which are being sold for around 45 bucks. It doesn't have all the new features but hey, 45 bucks. Check out ebay, or just google it. Regarding T's question, back roads. There's plenty, a really nice piece of road is 33 west. but anyways, i just want to mess around with it, and if it's only 45 bucks, so what? Who is CCVT? http://search.ebay.com/Gtech-pro_W0QQso ... 1QQxpufuZx - Mike - 10-14-2004 ccvt = car club of virginia tech - CaptainHenreh - 10-14-2004 MichaelJComputer Wrote:ccvt = car club of virginia tech Sounds like a variable valve timing trick.

There's plenty, a really nice piece of road is 33 west.....am I the only one who caught this.... - Andy - 10-14-2004 On 33 west, just before the mountains, you can max out the car. I've hit 130's. It's flat, and straight and rather scenic to perfectly honest with you, and everyone speeds, min. speed of 90. - Mike - 10-14-2004 when your tire blows since it isn't rated to 130mph (most likely) have fun being bounced around like a pinball in all those trees
- Andy - 10-14-2004 You should try it, but your LS probably couldn't take it 8) - KPWSerpiente - 10-15-2004 Quote:when your tire blows since it isn't rated to 130mph (most likely) have fun being bounced around like a pinball in all those trees sorry, those of us rolling around on more than H rated tires wont' have a problem. I'm not talking about maxing the car out...175 mph is more than I'd ever do...unless I was on the salt flats and didn't mind blowing up a motor. But where can you go from a standstill to ~90-95mph around here? -T - Mike - 10-15-2004 KPWSerpiente Wrote:Quote:when your tire blows since it isn't rated to 130mph (most likely) have fun being bounced around like a pinball in all those trees i assumed you had good enough tires, but a lot of tires aren't rated at that speed. i was just making a point, and it wasn't even directed at you. - Mike - 10-15-2004 jackstands Wrote:You should try it, but your LS probably couldn't take it 8) you have much to learn young one. - Andy - 10-15-2004 Travis, go out to 33 west early sunday morning, like 6-7, no cars, anywhere. You can stop in the middle of the streets and then just gun the gas. seriously, there's some back roads in bridgewater, mossy creek area that are great too. p.s. i got W-rated tires. - KPWSerpiente - 10-16-2004 So my next question is: why would I want to peg leg it up and down the block sunday morning? Oh yeah...6 AM? You must be kidding. -T |
