BendPak MD-6XP mid-rise car lift, 6000lb Capacity - PDenbigh - 11-04-2017

Lightly used Bendpack MD-6XP mid-rise car lift for sale. 6,000lb capacity. Comes with 8 pads (4 low, 4 tall). Is considered stand-alone (doesn't need bolted to the floor) and can be moved around a shop if needed. Runs on standard 110v power and is quiet and smooth.

More info here: http://www.bendpak.com/car-lifts/specialty-lifts/md-6xp.aspx

New price is between $2,000-$2,250. Selling this one for $1000. It was used at a repair shop for a few months, and then I acquired it and used it twice. Sold the project car and don't have a need for it anymore.

It's built really well, which means it's also heavy and will need transported on a flat bed trailer. No way to load it into a pickup truck. Will need to use a come-along or winch (which I have and can help with) to get it in the trailer. (or about 6 really strong guys)

Located in Staunton, VA.  If you are in the general Staunton or Harrisonburg area I can deliver it and help you get it set up.

This would fit in a 1-car garage just fine, FYI.

Wow, that's pretty cool.

Great price from a known entity!

These mid-rise units are great for FWD cars and 99% of projects. I feel like this would be a great tool for Adam or Scotty where it fits in the garage underneath a car and makes brake/suspension/oil change jobs easy!

Having never used this type of lift, other than not having to bolt it to the floor, would you say it has any advantages over a similarly priced MaxJax two-post such as this?

This seems frighteningly unsafe. How does it not risk becoming unbalanced if it's not bolted down?

PS - My MaxxJaxx will be for sale in about 3 months January/February timeframe, but more expensive than Pete's solution.

Care to elaborate? If I'm mistaken, I'd love to know. I sat and pondered the physics of a portable two posts for a bit before I posted that reply.

I think he is saying that Pete's lift is the unsafe one.

I'm sorry, I must have misread that two post summary. I thought it said portable and not needed to bolt it down. If it needs to be bolted down, it's not very portable is it?

Hey guys, correct, the two-post is not exactly portable.

RE: BendPak MD-6XP mid-rise car lift, 6000lb Capacity - davej - 11-06-2017

I've been lusting after this all weekend, Pete, after seeing it on the faces book.
Link says the lowered height is 4.75" is that the drive over clearance needed, or would you say it'd need to be more? I'm wondering if the 02 & e30 can get over it with out having to monkey with the front valances. Guess the best way would be to drive down and see. =)

DJ, can you elaborate on your FWD comment? What might make it less than ideal for a RWD/AWD?

Limited clearance for doing transmission/driveshaft work (aka doing a clutch).

A mid-rise is reallllly really good for those who arent doing a lot of intense engine swaps and trans work.  As said, you can drive over it and so it doesnt take up any room in the garage when you are using it.

2 Posts take up a ton of room, which is why the MaxxJaxx is "portable".  You can unbolt the post from the floor in about 25 seconds and then pop the quick disconnects (from the factory) and move it over.

You want to know how many times I have moved my "portable" MaxxJaxx?  Zero

For most the guys in here, a mid-rise is far and above more than enough and no disadvantages of the 2 post.

RE: BendPak MD-6XP mid-rise car lift, 6000lb Capacity - PDenbigh - 11-06-2017

I'm currently holding it for a guy that's trying to pick it up either tonight or tomorrow, so it's tentatively sold. Sorry man. If that changes I'll let you know!

As for the height, I don't know that your e30 could clear it. My E46, stock ride height, barely doesn't clear it. I have some 2x10's that I lay along each side to drive on, giving it an extra 1.5" clearance, and then it's fine.

oh, duh. Yeah, that makes sense not having full access under the center.

No worries Pete, it's mostly a pipe dream on my part anyway.

Buy my MaxJaxx?  I can even deliver  Big Grin

If anyone is interested in mine, please let me know.  I modified the lift for much easier use with new hydraulic lines ($250 worth of lines!) so that none of the lines are on the floor or in the way.  It also has the revised lift arms from Danmar and I believe 2 years left on the warranty through Amex Costco.

I will be asking $1600 and can deliver.

RE: BendPak MD-6XP mid-rise car lift, 6000lb Capacity - davej - 11-06-2017

ugh, that's a terrifically terrible idea... we should probably talk if it's not spoken for in a couple of months.

Gotta figure out how much the upcomming delivery is going to run, what a year to be on a high deductible health plan.

BendPak MD-6XP mid-rise car lift, 6000lb Capacity - Senor_Taylor - 11-06-2017

Dave, considering your seeming permenant status where you are, you should probably invest in a "real" lift. I think the returns on that would be great. You can always park your car between the posts normally.

I think Stephen is actually looking to buy a maxjaxx. Dj - getting a bigger lift in the new house?
