R56 JCW~Ruining the daily - Rupertfl - 09-19-2017

As many of you know my luck with cars running has be pretty poor and the mini has lived up to reputation. However, I'm going to continue with the full track ready, Miata destroyer plan.

The mod list right now is: resonator delete, fortune 500 coil overs, adjustable end links, everything that has to do with coolant is either new or upgraded, and k&n panel filter.

Next summer mod plans: Snead4speed aero kit, O.Z. Ultra leggera w/ federal 595srr, cat delete and cob access port, or any other suggestions. Each comma separates one thing per summer b/c they are around 1500, excluding the cob and cat delete.

Time for a FWD champion! Tongue

Minis are so much fun... I really love how they drive. Sounds like a good slow mod list, although I'd do wheels/tires before aero for the sake of functionality.

always had a soft spot for the R53 JCW's, loved how they looked. sounds like a sweet car to develop. sorry to hear its been a PITA for you but the driving experience seems to be totally unique for a FWD car. go give the miatas hell!

I was thinking the same Jake since I'm currently running westlakes on the front and nankings on the rear [emoji22]. Unfortunately I may have to go with the accessory for the sake of me being able to get more cooling ability and other info on the car. If I did go with the access port it would be cheap enough for me to redo my brakes again since they are still dragging for some reason.

As for the immediate future I need a clutch and oil filter housing gasket, so on to the next fix.

It's from his 12 lb shift knob.

I know there are no pics the forum got grumpy when I tried to post a lowered car. Also Taylor i took the bowling ball knob off, I was scared the it would ruin my shift fork. I'm going to try to set up a weekend that I can do the gasket Considering it's a 6 hour job from mini, I think we could do it in two or three days. Its hard because you have to put the car in service mode and take off the exhaust. A lot of busy work for something that is going to fail again. Good job BMW for making 4 bolts at the bottom of one side with no bracket hold up a 5 lb. part.
