Charles Bias, 2015 Golf TSI (Lookin for a Trans Am) - Charles009 - 09-10-2017 Hey my name's Charles, live in Sterling Virginia. I'm a freshman majoring in CIS currently. I've been obsessed with cars ever since my friend introduced me to the car culture. I didn't realize this club was here till recently so I didn't bother bringing my car, but I'm so excited to finally have a place with people like me who love cars and I can continue to share my passion and meet a whole new group of people just like me. Like I said I currently have a 2015 Golf TSI completely stock, but I'm looking into buying a 2000-2002 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 hopefully by next year.
Re: Charles Bias, 2015 Golf TSI (Lookin for a Trans Am) - Senor_Taylor - 09-11-2017 Welcome! I just graduated with a CIS Degree and moved to Sterling.... Let me know if you ever have questions about class/professors/job! WS6s are super cool and I've always like them. I hope you find a good one! Get the Golf out to an autocross! Re: Charles Bias, 2015 Golf TSI (Lookin for a Trans Am) - Jake - 09-11-2017 Welcome! The Mk7s are great cars and we have a few people (all alumni, I think?) with them. Back in my day (ugh I sound old) we had two members with WS6's at the same time. That was a sight. Fun cars if you can ignore the plastic-fantastic interior and deal with random old-GM gremlins. I owned an automatic LS1 TransAm for a few weeks and even that was fun in a redneck-on-the-Beltway sort of way. It had Flowmasters and would bark the tires on the 1-2 shift but was otherwise a shitpile. Buy a nicer one than that. Hope to see you at some events soon! We have two more NASA track weekends and I'm sure a handful of autocrosses all throughout the fall. Re: Charles Bias, 2015 Golf TSI (Lookin for a Trans Am) - Charles009 - 09-11-2017 I will definitely try to get the golf down as soon as i can, I've been to a couple autocross events in it and it's a blast. Re: Charles Bias, 2015 Golf TSI (Lookin for a Trans Am) - Senor_Taylor - 09-11-2017 Since you've already autocrossed, it seems like it's time for you to get some actual track time with NASA! Re: Charles Bias, 2015 Golf TSI (Lookin for a Trans Am) - SlimKlim - 09-11-2017 Welcome! It seems like MK7s are taking over MM, and I like it. Re: Charles Bias, 2015 Golf TSI (Lookin for a Trans Am) - ScottyB - 09-11-2017 pretty VW - that's a great chassis. you've got some broad tastes going from that to an F-body, but those are probably a blast to hoon if you can find a good one. we've had a couple MM'ers with them so i'm sure they can help with some issues if you have any. Re: Charles Bias, 2015 Golf TSI (Lookin for a Trans Am) - SlimKlim - 09-11-2017 BTW let us old people know when you're back home, there's a handful of us not too far from Sterling, I've been meaning to check out the new Saturday C&Cs that are allegedly happening at the Crooked Run Brewery. Re: Charles Bias, 2015 Golf TSI (Lookin for a Trans Am) - Charles009 - 09-11-2017 Yeah I used to not be a fan of them so much, but they've grown on me, and I used to be a fan of mostly American muscle but have more recently become a fan of Euro cars as well, and if I can find a nice one that would be helpful. Re: Charles Bias, 2015 Golf TSI (Lookin for a Trans Am) - davej - 09-12-2017 I don't think we could ever have too many GTI's here. Welcome! Didn't someone here recently have a WS6? Stephen maybe? Re: Charles Bias, 2015 Golf TSI (Lookin for a Trans Am) - Jake - 09-12-2017 Stephen had an orange (?) one and Chad had a beigey one, yeah. Re: Charles Bias, 2015 Golf TSI (Lookin for a Trans Am) - *insertusernamehere* - 09-12-2017 Welcome Charles! It was nice to talk to you at the klines meet! Hopefully we see you out some more this semester! Chris Levey briefly had that built black 'maro of the same generation too. Re: Charles Bias, 2015 Golf TSI (Lookin for a Trans Am) - RawrImAMonster - 09-14-2017 Yeah I've had a 96 V6 Firebird, a 95 Firebird Formula, and a 2002 Trans Am WS6 for a total of 9ish years of 4th gen ownership. I'm pretty familiar with them by now so let me know if you have questions. viewtopic.php?f=14&t=10851 |
