Proceeds go to the Lance Armstrong Foundation which aides young people with cancer... I just ordered a pack of 10. If anyone would like one let me know and you can Paypal me the $1 or just hand me a dollar bill when I see you... I'll eat the shipping for you poor college kiddies Tongue

Cancer sucks, it's random a lot of the time, and I'm all about helping those in greater need than myself.

at the risk of starting a stupid back and forth argument, you should say "those in greater need living in the states and not abroad"

haha, j/k

on a lighter note, its a good cause, and i'm a bit weary because it seems like a trendy thing to wear (seen to many uva frat boys and sorostitutes wearing them) but i got one anyway to put on the shifter of the STi seeing as how lance has that suby sponsorship. lance 0wnz, cancer sux0rz.

- Mike - 10-11-2004

is it trendy? you, navin, and 1 other person are all i saw wearing them... regardless, money goes to a good cause so fuck "trendy."

i havent worn mine, so i dont think you did see me wearing it. i probably see more people wearing them around c'ville than not. i think evan's got one that he likes to flash while cruising in his cute little miata picking up dudes. but i agree, its a good cause, so i'll let it slide.

- Mike - 10-11-2004

ah i must have seen it on ur shifter then... i knew u had one. i might have thought you were wearing it cause i always seen navin wearing his and u are both brown... sooooo my mind was just playing tricks on me.

- JackoliciousLegs - 10-11-2004

yeah, it's the trendy thing...

- Mike - 10-11-2004

yay for trends that are for charity!

- Feersty - 10-11-2004

Yeah, it seems very trendy, I think people forget what it is for.

- Evan - 10-11-2004

I had one before all you peeps. Im original! like way back in tha day y0!

- Jess - 10-11-2004

I'm not trying to jack this thread, but it reminded me of some events that occurred last week that relates to those little yella bracelets....
~~~~~~~
So I went to GA Court of Appeals last week to watch oral arguments before the court with some classmates, and ran into Hulk Hogan. Not literally, but it was his case we were watching. So one of my law friends, who wears one of those livestrong bracelets, had a conversation in the elevator that went something kinda like this:
HH: hey what are those yellow bracelets for that I see everyone wearing?
Friend: the lance armstrong cancer research foundation
HH: Isn't he the dude that left his wife and kids for sheryl crow?
Friend: Um, I dunno, but I'm wearing it for cancer research, not infidelity...
HH's Laywer: We also represent sheryl crow...
Of course, this story was much funnier at the time....but it was cool to see an 80's icon, if you can call him that... :roll:
~~~~~~~

...still waiting to see if Hulk Hogan won his case...
Tongue

Oh, and I'd like a livestrong!

- Ginger - 10-11-2004

Aren't they still backorderd nationwide?

- navin - 10-11-2004

I support the cause they are going for, but after realizing that I smoke cig's I stopped wearing mine... I thought it was kind of rude

When I quit I'll start wearing it again

- Mike - 10-11-2004

backordered? i gues you could say that. my shipment is supposed to ship in 3 weeks. i got 10, and if nobody else wants them i will wear them all up my arms and ankles.

- Ginger - 10-11-2004

I'll take another one or two, heck, I'll even give you $2 a piece! Wink

My one is probably going to break soon.

- Sijray21 - 10-11-2004

i'd like one, but i don't have any money in my paypal account

can you bring one to summit? (are you going?)

i can give you a $1 then plus whatever for shipping that you paid for so probably $2

- Maengelito - 10-12-2004

they were backordered for a long long time, but i guess they got some more. and hulk hogan rules! i'm still waiting to see G do that thing that the hulk did to get the crowd into it before he suplexed people, except this will be before G donkey punches some stupid girl.

- Mike - 10-12-2004

i'll be keeping them all in my car, so wherever i go they will be with me if someone wants to pick one up... and yes, i'll be at summit.

- Jewels - 10-12-2004

Hey Mike, I'd like one of those bracelets... I'm not sure when I can get you the money but if you could hold one back for me that'd be cool. I think Rex is going to summit so I might have him pay you and pick it up.

- Mike - 10-12-2004

doubt i'll have them by summit... maybe by homecoming... either way i'm down at jmu now and then, no hurry.

What he meant was that for the longest time they were taking your money and telling you they'd ship stuff out eventually. I put in my order about 4 months ago and haven't seen anything yet due to the backorder. Just looked again and now it's saying 3 - 4 weeks, who knows if I'll get it.
