Joseph Plauger, (Working on it...) - plaugs_golf - 03-15-2017 I'm a freshman here at JMU. Absolutely loving it here. I am majoring in Computer Science, but that might be changing soon... not quite sure yet. I currently do not own a car, mostly because of my empty wallet. I am on the Club Golf Team here as well at JMU...went to Nationals last semester down in Orlando, FL. Haven't really decided what car I want when I can finally afford one.... Leaning towards a Miata as a first car (Thanks Taylor), but we'll have to see. So yeah, feel free to ask questions! Re: Joseph Plauger, (Working on it...) - Senor_Taylor - 03-15-2017 Welcome, Plaugs! Glad to have someone so excited about motorsports aboard. Go check out the other subforums on here! You can usually find people's project threads by clicking the links in their signature. I just have never done any sort of programming before, so my first class (where they try to weed out the stragglers) I struggled a bit. I'm going to retake it and hopefully make it through the system. No matter what you buy, the maintenance will be more difficult to deal with than the initial purchase price, from a financial standpoint. Hence why I'm not recommending at $2k E36 instead of a $2k Miata

Still attainable but having the extra cash on hand makes life immediately after your purchase that much easier.Jake Wrote:They're certainly not bad cars... cheap to buy, pretty cheap to own, generally don't break. The hardest realization is that if you scrounge $2000 and spend it on a car, you won't be driving the car because now you don't have any money after tags, title, insurance, gas, odds and ends you'll need to fix. Re: Joseph Plauger, (Working on it...) - plaugs_golf - 03-23-2017 The issue is that I need to buy a new set of golf clubs that are like custom fit and everything... that will set me back easily over a grand.... I will have roughly 3 - 4 grand left over, but then school has to be paid for and some of that money I'm going to need in reserve. I can't just drop all of it on a car. |
