Connor Lankford 1992 E34 535i - cdl723 - 01-27-2017

My name is Connor and i currently have a 1992 E34 535i/5. Its a fun car but also very comfy. I haven't really done much to it other than general maintenance.

The red metal bumper E30 was my last car which i did a lot to but was forced to get rid of.
some mods were:
H&R Sports
M20b25 Swap with miller MAF and Chip
Everything was refreshed with the engine swap
4.10 Dif
E46 ZHP steering rack swap for faster steering
Sport seats
TRM C1 with Kumho Ecsta 4x ii

All around it was a great car and i hope i get another one some time soon.

Another 5-speed 535i in the club, nice! Hopefully yours is less of a turd than mine was. I have a build thread in my signature that you can check out ("build" mostly being fixing shit that never should have broken in the first place, and throwing BBS wheels on it) but woooo. I would rock another E34 if I could have a not-awful one this time around.

That M30 will go forever getting about 15 mpg the whole time. They are definitely comfy cars and "big" without being stupid large.

What are your plans for yours? Welcome to MM! Big Grin

The photo made me do a triple take. Almost a spitting image for the '91 that Jake had.

Welcome!

Oh its a turd but I've already fixed so much shit it shouldn't brake anything major anytime soon. Ive already done the shocks, clutch, spark plugs, cap and rotor, and cleaned out the heater core in the 6 months I've owned it. It has 220k miles on it and its still chugging along. I also put the Miller WAR chip in it and have the MAF laying around but haven't gotten around to putting it in. My plans for it were to be the "safe and reliable" daily driver through college. Then maybe a snail after i graduate...

Sounds like you're on the right track with it!

If you have functional heat, you're ahead of mine. I bought it at 185k, drove it for a year and maybe 14k miles(?) - I think I got it to 199k but not 200 - and it went through two friends after me. The second dropped a TON of money on it and only added a few thousand miles over the course of two years. He finally got fed up and parted out/scrapped the car.

But in her heyday... she did get me around for part of senior year and most of my first year out of college.

And the ebb and flow of Mm continues. As the mustangs and Miatas graduate, the Bimmer count grows. It was nice meeting you at the meeting... Again.

Maybe I should buy an old Bimmer again. ..

Make sure yours has heat and wasn't parked in a field for a few years.

Just speaking from experience

Ya the M30 is a tank, I still remember that sound (and ground rumbling) from some open pipeĀ E28 535s that came to NASA events like 100 years ago. Glorious! And as a bonus, you can always tell if one's been parked in your driveway!
