What in the world should I buy? - RhyminSimon27 - 05-31-2016 Hey everyone, Simon here, now a new AluMMni I guess. For those of you that never met me or don't remember me, I've been dailying an RSX for the past several years, and now I'm looking to change that. I don't hate myself enough to drive a rebadged honda with a fart can and shitty halos for the rest of my life. Anyway, I've been browsing around for the past couple months and still haven't found anything that really strikes my fancy, so I figured I'd open the floor to suggestions if anyone wants to contribute. Requirements: - Budget: 15-18k, but closer to 15 would be preferable - Mileage: >70k, preferably >60k - At least moderately comfortable over long distance drives - Automatic (I have to drive in manhattan a decent amount, so shush) - The newer and plusher the better - Enough power to have a bit of fun with. - Sedan body style preferred, coupe and others considered. No SUVs. - AWD would be ideal, but that's proven a challenge, so RWD works or even FWD - Lastly, factory HID projector headlights are a big plus since I have astigmatism, driving at night can be nerve wracking even with HIDs. - Oh and I don't always have the time/tools/knowledge to repair vehicles myself, so reliability is appreciated; This thing is gonna have to last me at least a few years. That's about it honestly. Thanks in advance! I was gonna suggest, however, that an IS350 would be stylish, reliable, fun, and meet all your other requirements and still be within your budget. Re: What in the world should I buy? - Kaan - 06-01-2016 kids grow up so fast. I wasnt past fart cans until i was forced by the court system
Re: What in the world should I buy? - Jake - 06-01-2016 It pains me so much to recommend a Toyota product, but I'd +1 the IS350. They're kinda interesting, look sharp, and fit your needs well. It's better than that 4G TL that you were on about last night... GTI would be another good option, lots of practical room but easy to park in the city due to how short it is. Re: What in the world should I buy? - WRXtranceformed - 06-01-2016 I would assume you could get a decent boosted Legacy GT at that price point, pretty much ticks all of those boxes as long as you don't heavily mod it. At that price point and general requirements though, you're open to a lot of options. I would just go to one of the car sites and run a search to browse the 1580150810515 results that come up Re: What in the world should I buy? - CaptainHenreh - 06-01-2016 WRXtranceformed Wrote:I would assume you could get a decent boosted Legacy GT at that price point, pretty much ticks all of those boxes as long as you don't heavily mod it. I had one here in Hoboken and it was my brother's NYC car before that and it's perfect for that. Easier to find spots, navigate etc. There's a reason you see a decent amount of Golf/GTI's putting around. Re: What in the world should I buy? - SlimKlim - 06-01-2016 Hot hatch is definitely the way to go, I don't need to bleat on about how much I love the GTI more than I already have on this forum, if you have any specific questions about owning one shoot me a message. Given someone of the really shitty ideas provided to others in the past though, it's still a pretty solid one.
