Holden Broughman ***UPDATED - 73 Mustang*** - 73Broughman - 03-28-2016 Hello, my name is Holden Broughman, I am from Covington, Va which is about an hour and a half south of Harrisonburg. My daily driver is a 2013 Impala at the moment, but I am also the owner of a 73 Mustang. I have been very passionate about cars from the start. This 73 Mustang was actually my dads 30 some years ago (he bought it in the early 80s), since I was about 16 I pretty much became the caretaker for the car. The car is pretty much bone stock, it has a 302 V8, and in need of a paint job (it still has its original paint from 1973, so it's decent for the shape it's in). I just recently was able to get some pictures uploaded! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
Re: 73 Mustang - Senor_Taylor - 03-28-2016 Hey Holden! I'm guessing you found out about us by the mass e-mail? I'm Taylor and I'm the VP this year so I'd be happy to give you some more information. Are you a student? We as a club focus on getting students to the race track and formally involved in organized motorsports. If that doesn't interest you, we also have social aspects to the club. We have karting days, go to auto-crosses and car shows, help each other work on each other's vehicles (like tonight I'm putting in RTABS in my E46 in Copper), club dinners, Top Gear nights, trips to Eastside Speedway in Waynesboro, and lots of other things including parties. If you're not interesting in getting on the track just yet (like a lot of students) you'll still fit right in. We have bi-weekly meetings on wednesdays in ISAT at 7PM except this week as we are preparing for our biggest event, the spring car show. That is this weekend, which means this is an exciting time to join the club! This weekend we are having our car show Saturday morning in C4 by Hillside, then we are going on a club cruise, then a club dinner followed by an after-party in Copper. Then Sunday morning we have an auto-cross in Verona. That's also a social event as most members are going, even the ones not racing, so there will be lots of MM'ers to hang out with. A major part and perk of joining Madison Motorsports is the large network of alumni you will be connected to. We have people who race wheel-to-wheel every weekend, work for the major auto-makers, are master techs at dealerships, and all kinds of things. So if you ever need help with anything or are looking to hear some good stories, they are the ones to ask. A large chunk of alums are coming down this weekend for the events! Dues are $50 a year, or $30 a semester and that pays for a club shirt (which we still have extras of), an MM sticker for your car, and various other perks. If you are interested in joining, feel free to click the link in my signature to go to my Facebook and add me as a friend and we can talk more. Welcome! |
