Alex Petze Intro - Petze - 11-18-2015

Hey everyone! I'm Petze, and I'm currently a freshman majoring in ISAT, who's originally from Charlottesville VA. I drive a 2002 3.0i BMW X5, she's mostly stock other than the tires, windows, white lights, and sound system. My second car is a 1968 Corvette with a L79 engine, rebuilt in 2008, pushing over 350 hp.

welcome to the club, we've got quite the variety here even though we're currently tolerating a BMW/miata plague. definitely get that vette out to the car show come springtime!

Welcome! There's a pretty good plethora of BMW and 'Vette knowledge around these parts so you should be covered in that regard. Would be great to see the Vette out at the spring car show. Hopefully we'll see you at some events here shortly!

Can RJ buy a Porsche to get the Plague started? G was almost there but quickly sold it to go back to the BMW dark side...

I'm not even a porsche guy, but that yellow 911 someone posted on FB the other day was tripping my trigger. I dont know why you nova types aren't all over a 20k car that looks that good. Only thing I was slightly wary about was the trans swap, but I don't know much about them mechanically at all

That can't possibly be true, what about Rex's E30s of years past or Channing's alleged junkyard full of E30s?

I think it was DJ, Mike and I that started the E36 M3 epidemic. We bought them all within like 60 days of each other and showed up at one autocross with em.

we did have a good run of E30's. Rex, Chan, BJ, and Sean held that banner high but they all already came into the club liking bimmers and didn't convert the whole damn camp like you dingbats.

at that time, back in the day, E36 M3's weren't cheap yet, they were still "nice" :lol: .

Yeah, I was sort of converted by getting to drive/ogle Joey's M3, then working on my friend's E34 525i junior year and realizing how strong/smooth that motor ran after 200k of abuse and neglect.

Granted, my first E36 didn't come until I graduated, but I kinda made up for it since. The convertible is #4...

I was...tapped into. Always loved BMW's but was scared shitless of owning them. Then it all started with PM's to Jake on the forum about "help me buy an e34" and I ended up with an e36 :lol:

Update: We Finally got the new air filter in the mail this week. The last filter was being suffocated by the top part of the hood within the engine. [Image: TCYJ29o.jpg]
