E46 325i 5spd for sale, Blue on Tan. $3k - BLINGMW - 11-12-2015

I'd like to sell our '02 325i, would be a great student car or cheap commuter. I'm only posting here for now at the MM price of $3500. I can bring it to Turducken if someone wants to look at it.
It WAS garage kept, recently kicked out by our TDI and Miata, and my DD is a van. We just don't need it and I'd hate to leave it out in the snow.

160K miles
5spd
Blue on tan
16" E90 wheels with ~1yr old tires on them, I can include the stock wheels as well
Heated, memory adjust seats
Everything works, no idiot lights, runs/drives great, no rust
Replaced in last 3 years:
throttle pedal, throttle body, ICV, cam position sensor, climate control final stage resistor, front CAB to powerflex, valve cover gasket, all synthetic fluids

Full disclosure:
Rear suspension bushings probably original, no noises but rear camber at the limit of factory spec
Burns a quart of oil every 1000 miles, a little smoke visible at startup but not once warm
Hit in rear long ago, rear bumper a little compressed
Leather needs a good cleaning from kid seats but in good shape
Plenty of rock chips in paint front/rear
C-pillar cloth falling off, though all else and headliner fine
Driver door lock doesn't work with key, but remote lock/unlock works fine for all doors and trunk
My attempt to clear up the headlights, especially the left, was mostly a failure, left plastic needs more TLC or replacement

Any idea where the oil loss is coming from?

sounds like valve guides/seals if its going away when it warms up. for that price though, just buy rotella T6 for cheap, keep topping it off, and drive on

Most likely. It's not mixing with coolant, and compression is good last time I checked, so rings and head gasket are probably not the culprit.

Well let me know when you're ready to take $2500 for it

Woo!

Now go to Harbor Freight and buy yourself a set of torx and a set of e-torx sockets.

Noted!

I went to Roanoke today to write the check and swap titles. Delivering the Miata and grabbing the E46 on my way to School Saturday and it'll be official. I test drove it today and was blown away by how uneventful it was... in a good way. I was in awe of windows that seal and doors that shut quietly, and power windows that go faster than a snail, and a shift that is smooth and buttery with a clutch not in the shape of a Pringle. I'm extremely excited. I was so excited, in fact, that I could barely sign my name on the title.

They are fantastic cars to drive. You'll appreciate how BMW earned its reputation as you drive it more and more. The Miata is a great car in its own right, but the E46 is just nice in a way that no Miata will be, just by virtue of what type of car it is.

The windows are great 'til the regulators fail and the shifts are great 'til the bushings blow out. But both are easy DIYs Smile And then it'll be great for another 10 years.

Where is the Miata going?

To Chan as part of our deal. I don't know what his plans are, and I don't think he knows either, but he's sure got a lot of new parts for his Miata now.
