Happy Wednesday, amigos.

WHERE: Meet in R1 (Baseball lot)

WHEN: Thursday 8/27/15 MEET AT 12 PM Noon

WHAT: Awesome club cruise down back roads through WV and back.

Another FrOG week event? Hell yeah it is. This time, we're going to do the Mac Daddy of all cruises. A route I've been told you old farts took once.

I'll be making that trip the weekend before for a music festival. 250 from Staunton back to 28 is a great drive. Saw a ZR1 on it last year.

Theres another road you can take just before you get to Monterey that I recommend. Its got some nice up and downs, small country road unmarked, lots of left and right and it runs right back up to 33 and is a little shorter but just as fun. It runs up to Brandywine instead of Franklin. No chance in hell for police either. Source: my field trips for geology.. let me see if i can map it out and link it like you did.

Okay I don't know how to get it to make a loop like you did, but if you look at the one you linked you'll see Route 614 off 250, you take that north up to sugar grove keep right when you hit the only fork you'll see, go past the military base, and you'll hit 33 @ brandywine, go right and come back into town over our regular 33 cruise. I think that would be less boring than the near straight road you already mapped out Smile

Those are both awesome loops. If you go with the 614 one you miss some great mountain sections right out of Monterey. Be watchful on this cruise for police. Monterey is notorious. Have radios and communicate or something. Because the roads are totally worth it to properly "enjoy." "Headwaters" is where the cops got the group of supercars from Nova last yearish.

Fantastic loop. I was the old fart that lead the one other time it was done. Plan 3 hours or so plus photo ops and ice cream stops. Super fond memory. Be safe!

Somewhere right around this area I've seen a state cop two days in a row. Comfy in his little hidden hole just waiting for someone minding their own business. So take it easy slightly before here and at least until 629/strait creek rd.
