1983 Porsche 944 (Feeler) Mint - GregF - 07-23-2015

I'm putting this out there for my neighbor in NJ. He has a BEAUTIFUL 944 that's been immaculately maintained. Believe it or not, it only has ~13k miles on it. I'm not positive its an '83 but I believe that's what he said.

The facts:
Red
BBS wheels
Recently replaced a few of the buttons and other plastic interior parts on it.
Its been garage kept from the beginning and has always had a car cover on as well.
Its on the originally tires from '83.

Its gorgeous. He's not really sure what to ask for it as they aren't quite collector cars right now but it is museum quality.

Thoughts? He doesn't have any pictures of it but if there are any serious buyers, I'm sure I could persuade him.

$5 and a pack of gum

Re: 1983 Porsche 944 (Feeler) Mint - Senor_Taylor - 07-23-2015

That'd be fantastic if someone picked it up here. I love 944's, but I don't know of anyone around here is in the market right now. Maybe someone will come out of the woodwork. GLWS!

Apoc Wrote:$5 and a pack of gum

6 dollars and RJ will give him a handy.

Seriously, I wouldn't touch this. Not cool enough to save, gonna need lots of work to be hoonworthy.

Now if it was a turba....

I am most definitely not a serious buyer, but I've always liked these things and would love to see pictures of a 13k mile car.

My first single car accident (passenger) was in a red 944.

Plz. We need them. Plz.

The really early 944s had the most 80s-tastic interiors. I've never seen one that wasn't beat to shit though. I don't know if I'm mixing it up with the 928 but i think the tach went backwards like an Aston and the door release was a circular knob. Wonky.

EDIT: Not backwards, 0 was just in the upper right area for no apparent reason. I think the circular door handle thing was the 928.

I honestly wish I could afford a second car right now. I am tempted to take him up on his offer to let me take the car out for a bit. The car maaay be at a car show here in New Hope, PA August 8th/9th. Maybe Ill just enter the car as my own :O

Re: 1983 Porsche 944 (Feeler) Mint - SlimKlim - 07-24-2015

All this yakin', and yet no pictures.

Re: 1983 Porsche 944 (Feeler) Mint - Scott - 07-24-2015

My old 944 was the biggest PIA I've ever owned..... That being said, even though it's not any faster than a Miata, I find myself searching Craigslist all the time for another, mostly because I hate myself

We need pictures

Re: 1983 Porsche 944 (Feeler) Mint - Mike - 07-24-2015

One of my least favorite cars of ever. Probably because Derecola "raced" one.

This (because you like pics) is what the 944 should have been from the start (yes, an entirely different car that is awesome).

Re: 1983 Porsche 944 (Feeler) Mint - Senor_Taylor - 07-24-2015

I think 928's are horrendous from the front. 944 are better looking overall to me.

Re: 1983 Porsche 944 (Feeler) Mint - JPolen01 - 07-24-2015

I would use a 944 as a dumpster. Top 10 ugliest cars ever made.

Edit: I was looking at pics of Strosek 928's because of this post and came across this 993 tuned by them. Talk about cocaine fueled awesomeness.

Re: 1983 Porsche 944 (Feeler) Mint - SlimKlim - 07-24-2015

^ That's fucking awful.

And 928s are shit covered shit with shit filling. You people are broken.

A 944 is standard Porsche-unreliable, if you buy one and bitch about it you only have yourself to blame. A 928 is a sadistic, evil machine that exists purely to torment man. Also, almost all of them were anemic 225hp V8s hooked up to a 3 or 4 speed auto, not 345hp 5.7s with manuals, so they're pathetically dissapointing to drive.

As far as cosmetics, they're both ugly, it's like y'all are arguing whether Lena Dunham or that fat chick from Pitch Perfect would be a better lay.

Give me a 944 Turbo all day long. I wouldn't kick a well-sorted, low mileage 928 S4 or GT/GTS out of bed either, but I'm 99.9% convinced those don't actually exist and people that claim to have them are just pulling off an elaborate photoshop prank.

As usual my hotness meter is broken, I thought both 944 and 928 look just fine. :dunno: Top 10 worst looking cars? Come on now.

Re: 1983 Porsche 944 (Feeler) Mint - Mike - 07-24-2015

Re: 1983 Porsche 944 (Feeler) Mint - Jeff - 07-30-2015

A friend of mine has a 928 that I have driven a few times. I didn't care for it but my taste in cars I know to be questionable.
