Project Honda FreeRX 4 AutoX - NTIman - 07-09-2015 So a while back Kaan gifted me with his former ride. And two and a half years later, I'm finally starting my thread on this car. Not going to lie, I disassembled this car then went through some crazy life changes, and I'm just now getting in a position where I'm ready to get this thing on the road. The formula is simple: simplify and add lightness. First things first, here is a picture of the beast mid-bodywork: ![]() The quarter panels were pretty rusted and there were holes in the rocker panels. Those have been replaced: ![]() ![]() And that's where it sits now. Paint has been purchased and it's going to be white once again. I've stripped the interior and I'm going to patch the hole where the sunroof used to be with some sheetmetal. Next up: -replace suspension bushings -repair shift linkage u-joint -replace struts with koni yellows -replace springs with something stiffer -replace drivers seat with most likely a Sparco Evo. -reassemble car -replace brake hoses -rebuild/replace brakes/calipers -profit Thoughts? Comments? Not too shabby for free? :dunno: Re: Project Honda FreeRX 4 AutoX - davej - 07-09-2015

I don't have anything to suggest because I don't know shit, but I'm excited to see where this goes! Re: Project Honda FreeRX 4 AutoX - *insertusernamehere* - 07-09-2015 Yeah woohoo! Go go go go Re: Project Honda FreeRX 4 AutoX - Kaan - 07-10-2015 I have the title in the office somewhere lol... I might have misplaced it again but its filtered closer to the top. I need my quarters done on the integra  I also have some 14 inch steels you can use as rollers if you want to put better rubber on the stock wheels. I need the space lol Re: Project Honda FreeRX 4 AutoX - CaptainHenreh - 07-10-2015 #angrypanda Re: Project Honda FreeRX 4 AutoX - SlimKlim - 07-10-2015 Wondered when we'd see the ole girl back in action, looking forward to the build! Re: Project Honda FreeRX 4 AutoX - xvxax - 07-10-2015 Is it an SI? Re: Project Honda FreeRX 4 AutoX - D_Eclipse9916 - 07-10-2015 Awesome. Re: Project Honda FreeRX 4 AutoX - Kaan - 07-15-2015 i need to roll my fronts... but I can bring the title and roller over this weekend  Re: Project Honda FreeRX 4 AutoX - NTIman - 08-10-2015 Made some progress today. I decided to finally put my shift linkage back together. I cobbled together something that took the slop out of the U-joint, and it's significantly better than it was. After that I started pulling apart the right rear suspension to press in new bushings. I pressed out the old ones and sprayed a coat of paint on the lower control arm while it was apart. Also ordered some coilovers. I'm now more or less broke. Re: Project Honda FreeRX 4 AutoX - NTIman - 08-12-2015 Pressed in some bushings tonight: ![]() Got out all the good tools. ![]() ![]() ![]() This was the right rear trailing arm bushing. It was nearly torn in two. I actually pulled it apart with my hands. ![]() And after. I basically cut the old rubber bushing out with a sawzall, then cleaned it up with a torch and some other tools, then pressed the Energy Suspension urethane bushing in with my press. ![]() Right rear control arm. ![]() With bushings pressed in. ![]() Only about four more corners to do. I may go into more detail about replacing bushings in further posts. I'm lazy. :dunno: Re: Project Honda FreeRX 4 AutoX - Senor_Taylor - 08-12-2015 I like your work space there! Looks nice a clean. |
