I dunno he was pretty funny when he let James drive his 250 GT California, seems like he has the right sense of humor to carry on the torch.
Considering that the Terrible Three are almost certainly going to do their own show I'm not too butthurt about it. Maybe the new TG will be good and we'll have two decent car shows to watch, maybe it'll suck and we'll still just have one. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This. If two good shows come out of this it will actually be an awesome outcome. Now we just have to see who the co-hosts will be. I'm hoping for Guy Martin at least.

One of the funniest moments in top gear that I recall was when they did the mass of "stars" to bring in the new reasonably priced car and some comedian was trying to give one of the guys driving crumpets or whatever at the start line. No idea why but that always cracked me up. No, I don't think they could be presenters but I just thought I'd share.
