Best trim level or model name - Jeff - 05-16-2015

I was thinking about this the other day and thought it would be an interesting question to pose to MM. What do you guys think is the best trim level or model name and why? I decided my favorite of late is the Range Rover Autobiography. An autobiography is obviously what you say about yourself...someone give that marketing guy a dollar.

I drove a RR LWB (not an Autobiography) on the RR test course thing at the Rolex Kentucky 3 Day Event a few weeks ago and they certainly make a nice product. I got a real car guy for an "instructor" and we got to nerd out about gear ratios and differentials. Its a good time if you are ever at an event that they have one.

I've always been a fan of Countach and Testa Rossa...

...but I'm not sure anything is as fitting and beastly sounding as TVR Chimaera.

Jon wins.

I don't know if its true or not, but the story of Chevy bringing the NOVA to mexico and finding out no one would buy it because it meant no go

El Camino means "The road" or "The way"

Camaro means "Friend" in French.

That's not even a word in French...
Quote:Sorry, no results for “camaro” in the Collins English-French Dictionary.

Edit:

Maybe it's a slang term in French, but definitely not a word from a dictionary.

Re: Best trim level or model name - BLINGMW - 05-18-2015

2002 because you get to play this:
A 2002 what?
No no, a 1976 2002.
:evileye: a what now? Which one is it.
It's a BMW 2002 made in the year 1976.
*sigh* Sorry I asked.

The only place I've seen this is a bunch of non-francophone chevy fanboys swearing up and down that this is "totally true."

Sometimes things don't mean anything a "Cutlass Ciara" isn't a particular brand of sword. It's just a vaguely romantic-sounding collection of syllables to designate a trim.

Re: Best trim level or model name - CaptainHenreh - 05-18-2015

Sort of like the Nova in mexico thing. Yes, they sold the Nova in mexico. A bunch of other spanish speaking countries too. Yes "No va" technically means "not going" in spanish, but that isn't how you say "Nova". If you were going to say "No va", the accent would be on the second syllable, for Nova it's the first syllable. Furthermore, if Nova means 'no go' in Spanish, someone should tell the goddam Mexican-State-Owned petroleum company to stop selling goddam gasoline called that, because no one is going to buy it because it means no go herpaderp.

Several good lols in this thread. Back OT I have also always liked the Chevy/GMC Yukon theme of mountain names: Denali, Yukon, Tahoe, Sierra
