Embedded images without file extensions - Evan - 04-24-2015 A lot of cloud image storage sites dont use a .jpg/.gif/.png when linking to images. Which doesnt work when trying to embed the pics in a post. Is there a way to fix this within phpBB ? Re: Embedded images without file extensions - SlimKlim - 04-24-2015 Im clicking around in the ACP and I don't see any sort of config options for the basic BB code features, it just lets us add additional ones like the Youtube one. I haven't noticed this with image hosting services, who is doing it? Can you manually add the file type and have it still render the image? EDIT: It looks like I could write another IMG tag using the BBcode feature, although I'd imagine the current one is just converting to a simple <img src=""> tag, which you think would still work... Re: Embedded images without file extensions - Evan - 04-24-2015 amazon cloud photos does for example so does pogoplug cloud and i think onedrive Re: Embedded images without file extensions - Evan - 04-24-2015 testing: can you see this worthless lazy animal? Re: Embedded images without file extensions - SlimKlim - 04-24-2015 Yeah the second one works, so it looks like you just can't link to a lightbox/gallery URL, you just have to copy the direct image URL. Re: Embedded images without file extensions - Evan - 04-24-2015 ok so looks like its not phpBBs fault, its the hosting provider not giving you a link to just the raw image. takes an extra step in amazon but you can get it with right click copy image URL my bad, carry on Re: Embedded images without file extensions - Senor_Taylor - 04-24-2015 I've always been under the impression that you shouldn't hotlink amazon cloud images. |
