Verona Autocross - March 21 & 22 - *insertusernamehere* - 02-23-2015
Autocross in Verona (30 mins south of jmu). SCCA.
Saturday: Test and Tune
Sunday: Point Event #1
$35 for members and $45 for non-members.
I'm 90% gonna be there on Sunday. And Tyler maybe? And Sam maybe?
Great automotive alternative for anyone not heading to the track. Come.

I'm planning on going. I've never done AutoX before and I think I was born with the hand eye coordination of a whale, so I'm excited.

Any idea how to pre-register? I tried to go through the site (that redirects to some other site) but it looks like registration isn't open yet. Wanted to get my spot booked soon, since I missed out on the Chilly-Cross.

Registered! It's a shame I have to skip VIR for this but I need to learn a few things before I do that. I'm just doing the test and tune on Saturday as of right now. I'm just gonna dip my toe in this, I'm not confident enough to sign up for points yet.

Dude, it's literally the same event with the same course, but you get points versus not. Everyone sees your times for either day, results get posted on the internets for either day.

"Points Challenge" significantly overstates how serious at least 50% of people take an autocross. Don't worry about where you end up on the scoreboard, or even that there is a scoreboard, just drive both days and have fun like most people do.

False. Times from test n tunes are not posted. Only the driver sees the time as he/she finishes the course That is the only log. Think of the timing as it is for "fun runs"
Also for test n tunes, you get significantly more runs than a regular points event

+1 with either type of driving, a first timer is not going to do well, comparatively speaking. Just have fun either way. That's all that matters!
