Guy Fixes Hybrid Himself - JPolen01 - 02-14-2015

Cliffs:

Guy buys camry hybrid (loses man card). Gets a warning light that the battery system isn't working. Dealer tells him it will be $4400 for a new battery. Guy tears apart battery, cleans some connections, and fixes the problem.

Joey sent me that on Friday - super cool story, even if it is about a Toyota Tongue

I have to wonder, how many instances of "you need new hybrid battery packs" are because the batteries have reached end-of-life, versus a situation like this?

new tech always means dealers are gonna go all snake oil on people until they get fed up and fix it themselves. Looks like this guy is leading the charge (pun intended)
