FS: 2000 Firebird Trans Am - LS1/Auto - Jake - 01-20-2015

Long story as to how I acquired this. Short story is that it's for sale and I'm going to be pretty flexible on the price.

2000 Pontiac Firebird Trans AM
LS1 V8 (305 hp?) and 4L60E automatic transmission
158k miles

Newer tires (about a year old), new front brakes. Good heat and AC. T-tops seal well. Black leather interior that's in fair shape aside from the torn driver's seat bolster, which has been repaired with tie-dye duct tape.

Asking $4200.

Pix and more colorful commentary here: <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/cto/4855131309.html">http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/ ... 31309.html</a><!-- m -->

Only because I'm on lunch right now and blogs aren't entertaining today.

Got a friend who lives in DC, originally from Texas. We'll call him Russell, because that's his name.

So he moves to DC with this Firebird. Parks it on the street in front of his apartment. In DC, you can only park for like three months without DC tags. He started working on the hill for a senator or congressman or something and could park it at work, so he left it there, thus negating the need to put DC tags on it. Drove it when needed but got around mostly via Metro and his two feet.

Well, dude he was working for didn't get re-elected, so Russell is now out of a job and out of parking. It failed DC inspection because it needs front brakes and the driver's front turn signal doesn't blink. He was paying $20/day (!!) to park it at Union Station, it got towed once already, and given he's out of work right now and doesn't need the thing, the building costs were absurd. So, he wanted it gone and offered it up at a really, really low price.

I told him to bring the car, the keys and the title. Bought him Chipotle and dropped him off at the Metro. Got home and ordered some parts from Rock Auto. Bingbangboom, now I have to put said parts on the car and get 'er gone.

So basically you traded a V8 transam for a burrito?

Not quite, there was some money involved as well.

hmm...how much for just the engine/trans and whatever else one might need to swap into an e30?

3 burritos?

Re: FS: 2000 Firebird Trans Am - LS1/Auto - Mike - 01-20-2015

Story is disappoint. Was really hoping it involved real Mexicans, real cowboys, you in Texas, a V8 shitpile traveling at high speeds, and a trunk full of blow.

Sorry, bro.

If it doesn't sell in the next week or so, expect new listing photos involving jorts, mullet wigs, and American flags. Maybe a female draped over the hood.

Well then.

Burnouts?

Re: FS: 2000 Firebird Trans Am - LS1/Auto - ScottyB - 01-20-2015

if you haven't done a burnout in it yet with the t-tops off and Neil Diamond blaring through a cloud of tire smoke, i'm going to recommend you do that right now, because there's never existed a car that's meant to do that more perfectly

We at least need a picture of you behind the wheel, so that we have proof that this was indeed a thing that happened, once.

the question is, how much awesome can you handle?

That shirt is amazing... I doubt it'd arrive before Friday though, and I might have the car sold by then.
