Is it not safe to say that if you liked the original movie, then there's pretty much no way in hell that a remake is going to be better? :dunno:
I can find plenty of lists of "the remake was better than the original", but only if the original wasn't good or done well or made in my lifetime.

Correcting myself, I'd have to say Tron was about the only movie I liked. Maybe not better than the orig, but it was a different enough story, benefitted from better technology, and I liked.

speaking of Tron, I wonder when the Ready Player One movie comes out? Now THAT I'll go to the theater for, and keep my fingers crossed that they don't screw it up.

Remakes I liked include Tron, War of the Worlds, King Kong, Godzilla (2014), and probably some others I can't remember.

I cannot freaking wait for this. I was just thinking how good (and promising) it is that George Miller is making this film. I probably watched each of the first three at least 5 times when I was a kid (the Road Warrior - probably 20 times).

Maybe nor terrible for the times they were made but i could just never get into them. I've tried to watch and usually get bored and change the channel. It's also usually always on the scene where they are protecting the tanker. Idk, guess I should sit down and try to watch from beginning to end
