Spec E46 Built - D_Eclipse9916 - 11-25-2014

Many of you know, based on facebook, that I have picked up a build for Spec E46. I was too turned off by the tin canny of Spec E30, I am not man enough to race a miata, and Spec3 is dead as a class. SpecE46 looks like a ton of builds already, and since Bimmerworld is heavily pushing the class, it will probably take off more than many realize.

I was debating building one myself, but in talking with a friend that I used to race with, he had a e46 330i GTS2 car. The price just wasn't going to work. After about 2 months of negotiations we both came to a price we could accept. I will be selling off a lot of stuff on this car to make way for the Spec stuff, and I will list it below; but first, Pictures!!! It was delivered yesterday.

Teaser : [Image: 10339715_10102051684609469_3951504307189...e=55112075]

Just kidding, here are real photos:
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/flimflam13/sets/72157648732346202/">https://www.flickr.com/photos/flimflam1 ... 732346202/</a><!-- m -->

The car will go through a lot of clean up, and working out final details now but 2015 looks like Raail Performance Coatings partnership and one more sponsor I need to work out details with. It is a good base, and means i get to race NOW instead of the arduous process of a build. This car will most likely be a LOT cleaner than the previous build. The Spec Ruleset allows me a bit more time into appearances instead of "tweaks".

For Sale:
OSGiken 3.64 Limited Slip E46 Non-M differential. Includes Bimmerworld's finned diff cover $2,300
E46 Ohlins inverted Coilovers with Vorshlag camber plates/springs $2600
Active Autowerkes E46 Non-M Headers $800
E46 non-M custom header-back race exhaust $400
E46 Non-M JB Racing Flywheel/sachs clutch, used in good shape - $500
E46 sedan Intake (cone filter for maf with intake box) $50 + stock intake box

Lastly, I have 2x Epic Tunes, Calibration Cable, ECU/EWS/Key, and ZHP Cams all for an E46 330i. Since the ECU is coded to EWS, I am looking to exchange a stock ECU/EWS/key/door lock/trunk lock to make it bolt in for your car. $700 (less than the cost of the ECU tunes alone!!!!) for the whole package including your stock stuff.

Step 1 -- let's paint the interior. Black interior + summer heat ... that can't be fun.

Come on over! That is one of the big things I want to get done.

A 4 door! Now that is something I was not expecting!

Pull the interior out and we'll get err done. I refuse to be responsible for broken BMW interior clips... they probably cost more than my car.

btw -- do you fit in the Circuit?

Yes, some of us aren't fat and lazy in our toyotas.

Nice! When I saw the picture on facebook I thought it looked familiar. I was eyeing up Newby's car at one of the events this year. Such a clean racecar. Excited to see how this progresses!

Re: Spec E46 Built - .RJ - 11-25-2014

of course...

Re: Spec E46 Built - Jake - 11-25-2014

Paul Newby is a goofball. The car is full of "Newbyisms" that amuse me.

He cut a hole in the Bimmerworld banner so the auto-headlight sensor would still work. The remote on the key still works to lock/unlock/pop trunk. The switches for TX/Cool Suit/Fuel Pump/whatever are labeled something like "Fire The Missiles."

Love. It.

Can't wait to see how this car gets tweaked to fit SE46 rules. You know I'm down for some wrenching and painting. Just keep me away from any sparkly blue Rustoleum.

awesome to see DJ, really wasn't sure what you were going to end up with.

Thanks, nor did I for a while there. I really DIDN'T want to spend the money on Spec E46, but I picked this car up for such a steal it didn't make sense for any of the others.

What about Universal Gold?

Re: Spec E46 Built - Goodspeed - 11-26-2014

Nice purchase! That looks stupid clean for a race car, looks like an awesome platform to start with.

My only (ricer) suggestion - the second the first pic loaded of the entire car, I said to myself - "this thing needs TE37's". I've always been meh on those Kosei's.

Yeah none of this primer colored crap. Put some color on this thing!

Re: Spec E46 Built - .RJ - 11-26-2014

Those would look great on a Supra, too. Just sayin'
