Tarmac Apparel would like to come to one of the next meeting - rallywagongian - 11-22-2014
Tarmac Apparel is a clothing comapny based out of Waynesboro VA, and one of the guys contacted me about coming to one of the next MM meetings and introducing his line of merchandise along with himself and the company. He also mentioned giving out some promotional stuff and some freebies.
Not sure what else he'd want to talk about but I figured, free stuff is free stuff lol
A lot of the "townies" and locals know about Tarmac and have decals on their car.

I've never understood how you can make a business by making t-shirts with just the business's name on it. It's like if I started a business by selling my business cards or something.
Just message one of the officers or something.

I mean it can be done with plenty of success. See Canibeat, Stanceworks, Speedhunters, etc. You need to couple the t shirts with a fantastic blog to be successful. In this case, I do not see any success coming about this. Poor designs with a poor website and nothing exciting about it.

I'm loyal to Gerald and Acler8, but from a community building and supporting perspective, what could it hurt? Let the guy practice his pitch at least? You don't have to support a motorsports startup with your wallet, but giving him a chance to talk is not a bad move. That's assuming that Gerald doesn't object, and from the looks of TA's site, G doesn't have anything to worry about. Not really even in the same market IMO.

I have no problems with them coming and giving free stuff haha but the only lame thing is we won't have another meeting til after Christmas break

Geez, tough crowd! I'd say don't judge 'em too harshly, even if their designs don't appeal to you now everyone has to start somewhere. These guys sound like enthusiasts too, why not hear what they had in mind?

Which reminds me.. G.. Next time we meet, can I grab an Auto Crest and I <3 VTwins Shirt in large?
I wear the Vtwins shirt so much it's got about a million stains on it (for some reason I only eat Thai or Indian food in this shirt...) :dunno:

Only thing I don't know is how timelines will work out once I submit designs for approval this week.
Otherwise because it's winter time I'm not going to open the floodgates for new stuff but I can potentially do a long sleeve or two if there's some demand. I'll show you guys some concept stuff I have.
