FS: 98 Cherokee, $1,500 - Ginger - 10-03-2014

I'll get a picture or two up later today, but decided if I didn't finally put the ad up I'd never get around to it. Unfortunately, this thing just doesn't make sense in my life anymore. There are parking limitations everywhere I turn, and the M and runabout get dibs on reserved spaces. It's been a great vehicle to me, and hopefully somebody here will want to enjoy it a little. Full disclosure for MM'ers.

1998 Cherokee 4 door, auto, approximately 160,000 miles. Maybe 165,000. Been a while since I've been inside.
Token bumper dent above the exhaust outlet.
Paint/body is in "fine" shape. It's not gorgeous, but there's really nothing preventing somebody with some time from making it look good. I am not that somebody. I keep thinking I am, but then I never do it.
Has the nice 5 spoke Cherokee alloys, as well as a spare set of some lamer-looking OEMs. Both sets of tires nearing end of life.
No A/C. The compressor died and I replaced it with a bypass pulley (and a new serpentine belt about 10,000 miles ago... maybe less)
4WD works.
3rd brake light needs to be repaired. I wired it to a regular brake. It worked. Eventually that wiring cracked. If you fix like I did, it only takes a few minutes.
Something is off in the alignment. Could be a tweaked rod end or something, could just need to be on a rack. Over 4 years, I have not cared.

Basically: it's a running 15 year old 4x4. Has issues and character. It's never left me stranded, and I've got no reason to believe it will in the future. Not pretty or perfect condition, but the price reflects that. Driving it in the winter with a ton of snow everywhere is pretty much my favorite thing in the world.

I'll check back here, but asteele2 at gmail is the fastest way to get in touch with me. I'm in Northern Virginia. DC, Reston, or Arlington. Take your pick.

With friends like these?

There's no major damage. It also hasn't seen the inside of a car wash for four years.

If you buy it, RJ will lend you his buffer.

Re: FS: 98 Cherokee, $1,500 - V1GiLaNtE - 11-03-2014

Solid. Can I expect build thread?

Re: FS: 98 Cherokee, $1,500 - ispoonwithmugen - 11-03-2014

Nope, haha. Maybe if I have some free time in a few weeks. The build will consist of it getting inspected and a new headunit/speakers and roof rack equipped for winter surf trips and snowboard trips. Maybe other goodies if I have more money come in.
