Simon Hoffberger - RhyminSimon27 - 09-02-2014

Hey everybody, my name is Simon and I'm a senior. I'm a management major, and I will most likely stay a 5th year to double major in marketing. I'm from Atlantic City, NJ and have been slowly getting more into the car scene over the past couple years. I'm mostly into imports but I can dig anything with wheels. I should have joined a long time ago but oh well, I was really lazy haha. I met some of you at the meet last night. I drive the blacked out 06 RSX (base auto  ) as my daily, and I also have a 92 miata and an 03 s2000 sitting at home.

I picked up the RSX in early 2012 with around 52k miles. Now it has about 75k. Mods worth mentioning so far are projector headlights with halos, fogs, and some motegi racing wheels wrapped in continental dws extremecontact. Also got a JL 10" sub, I replaced the dome light with a blue light thats kind of like a blacklight, replaced the map/license plate/trunk lights with white led lights. I debadged the back emblems with the intention of painting the Acura A black but I got lazy and never put it back on. I also got a boomerang armrest which is really nice to have. Awhile ago I picked up a greddy catback but when I went to put it on I realized that the bolts from the midpipe to the cat are completely rusted solid, and the cat is starting to rust through as well, so I'm gonna get a high flow cat and take the whole thing out as one piece before I put the new stuff on. So yes, I'm running no tailpipe right now  Future plans include a short ram intake, coilovers, and I'm not really sure what else.

Here's a few pictures of the RSX, from what it looked like when I first got it to a more recent picture. Since the last picture, I've taken off the celica spoiler, which the previous owner thought was a good idea :dunno: Also the fog lights are in now too.

That last picture isn't great but I love those headlights. Full projector set up, so far my favorite mod. The difference when driving at night is amazing. Anyway, here are some quick shots of the Miata and s2000.

The miata and s2000 are completely stock for now. Back before I was being realistic I wanted to LS swap the miata, but now I'm thinking I'll get into spec miata racing. I have no idea what I'm gonna do with the s2000 yet, because I just got it in June. Well anyway yeah those are my cars, and I'm looking forward to finally being a part of MM after putting it off for so long.

All your cars look great man! Glad you decided to finally join the club too!

Re: Simon Hoffberger - Senor_Taylor - 09-02-2014

I have a better idea for the Miata. Give it to me and let ME do Spec Miata. Welcome, man. I wonder if you're the RSX Ryan, Sam, Scott, and I encountered on our way to Richmond last year...

Re: Simon Hoffberger - *insertusernamehere* - 09-02-2014

Holy wow, you have alot of cars, very nice!! Leave the RSX at home and bring the S2000, those are sessy Wink

Welcome!! Looking forward to seein ya around!

I wanted to bring the s2000 this year but I had so much crap to bring back to school that it would have never all fit, and I didn't feel like doing the 6 hour drive four times lol.

If the miata ever comes down here you're more than welcome to have a go, but for now I took it off insurance. No sense in paying for it when it's just gonna sit in a garage. I'm not sure about Richmond, I never really drive out that way. Any idea road were you on and when? What car(s) were you in? I usually only leave the area to drive towards jersey during school breaks.

Re: Simon Hoffberger - Ianumunro - 09-03-2014

That miata looks lovely, I love the headlights on the Acura as well. The spec racing is certainly something to be followed, or so I hear. Anyway welcome dude! I'm also a newcomer

Re: Simon Hoffberger - Senor_Taylor - 09-03-2014

We were heading south on 81 in Ryan's black Mazda 3. Probably wasn't you.

Re: Simon Hoffberger - D_Eclipse9916 - 09-03-2014

While an ls1 swapped car is fun, nothing is more fun than a dedicated race car.

Re: Simon Hoffberger - Jake - 09-03-2014

Throw a roll bar, brakes and tires at that Miata and start autocrossing/HPDEing it... Spec Miata could be a lot of fun, you'll just have some steps to take between now and then Smile

Cars look great, hopefully we'll see you at some events here soon!

Re: Simon Hoffberger - Senor_Taylor - 09-03-2014

Simon, these two are definitely the ones to listen to about racing. ^^^

Re: Simon Hoffberger - Jake - 09-03-2014

The S2k would slot right in to Honda Challenge, but SM is cheaper and has more competition... sell S2k to fund Miata build Big Grin

(Also, DJ and I are very good at spending others' money...)

Re: Simon Hoffberger - Senor_Taylor - 09-03-2014

You have your first buyer for the Miata in me.

I'll give you $3.50

Re: Simon Hoffberger - RhyminSimon27 - 09-04-2014

Cool, thanks a lot for the input guys. When I find the time to get the Miata on a track I'll definitely be throwing questions in your direction. And sorry to disappoint but there's no way I'm selling any of these cars anytime soon haha

Re: Simon Hoffberger - EclipseTurbno93 - 09-04-2014

Wow those look great man! Everyone's obsessing over the other two but I think the RSX is sweet. Good call taking off that Celica spoiler haha.
See ya around!

Thanks man I appreciate it. Yeah when I took it off I found that it had cracked the trunk lid and also made it start rusting... Props to the previous owner for that one...

Re: Simon Hoffberger - rherold9 - 09-07-2014

Or give S2000 to Ryan. And Ryan will do whatever you want for 5 years.
