Move over Dan. - davej - 08-01-2014

My first time trying to bring back a cars paint, still working on it but thought I'd throw up some photos since it'll probably be another month before I finish it.

Picked up an air orbital and some pads. No clue on products so I tried a Maguire's cutting compound stuff.

Taped a line on the back end, pretty noticeable difference.

One all-over pass completed with the cutting compound.

I'm sure it'd make Dan cry if he looked at it, but I was pretty impressed on the transformation so far.

Think there's some other products to get next so we'll see what happens.

Looks good, I had an experience like that on my Miata. Single stage red was totally ruined, did a 3 stage polish with a borrowed DA and Menzerna compound and it almost looked new after I was done. Such an incredibly satisfying experience.

^^^^ Proper method right there. For an extra, super slick, radioactive shine you may also want to try droppin the sack on any body panel......adds the perfect touch!

no worries man, I wasn't home anyway that day. would be awesome to learn from the master at some point though.

@fluffydog.jpg

imagine the shine if you Velcro'd it to your dual action!
