Move over Dan. - davej - 08-01-2014 My first time trying to bring back a cars paint, still working on it but thought I'd throw up some photos since it'll probably be another month before I finish it. Picked up an air orbital and some pads. No clue on products so I tried a Maguire's cutting compound stuff. Taped a line on the back end, pretty noticeable difference. ![]() More progress ![]() One all-over pass completed with the cutting compound. ![]() ![]() I'm sure it'd make Dan cry if he looked at it, but I was pretty impressed on the transformation so far. Think there's some other products to get next so we'll see what happens. Re: Move over Dan. - SlimKlim - 08-01-2014 Looks good, I had an experience like that on my Miata. Single stage red was totally ruined, did a 3 stage polish with a borrowed DA and Menzerna compound and it almost looked new after I was done. Such an incredibly satisfying experience. Re: Move over Dan. - *insertusernamehere* - 08-01-2014 Very nice indeed, that thing was chalk red the last time I saw it haha Re: Move over Dan. - premiershine9 - 08-04-2014 Nice nice!! Apologies for being MIA with any assistance- 11 hour days and not much sleep right now for me =/ Re: Move over Dan. - Evan - 08-04-2014 SlimKlim Wrote:Looks good, I had an experience like that on my Miata.with the right tools, miatas really buff out well ![]() Re: Move over Dan. - premiershine9 - 08-05-2014 ^^^^ Proper method right there. For an extra, super slick, radioactive shine you may also want to try droppin the sack on any body panel......adds the perfect touch!
