BRSCCA autocross roanoke civic center - HAULN-SS - 05-22-2014
Hey has anyone ever done this event before? Anyone going to? My buddy is coming up from GA coincidentally that same weekend with his brand new EVO.
We're thinking about both going for our first autocross.
What's the low-down on how that works, and how late can you typically sign up? Should we just do fun runs? Any pointers? I still have a full face helmet - should that suffice?

I've done the Salem autocross but not the Civic center ones. Those are my old stomping grounds, I used to drive past the Civic center every day on my way home.
You can't just do fun runs to my knowledge, you sign up for the event, fun runs are optional afterwards if they have time.
Lots of times you can just walk up and sign up unless it's already full, you should be able to preregister online though. Full face helmet is fine, it might have to be under a certain age though, i think they checked the sticker on mine last time I did one.

I don't know if it was BRRSCCA that I ran with at Roanoke, but I've run that lot before... It's not super great, but for a first time you'll have fun for sure. And yes, whatever full face helmet you have will probably do. It's easy to sign up, registration's right here:

This here says "event #4 and event #5"
so i guess it'd probably work best for me to just do the saturday event
Also for classing I'm assuming novice?

I'm a little out of date on classing, but yes, novice should be fine. What day you signing up for? I might have somthing else going on on the 14th, which may or may not conflict, but 15th should be open. I guess I could run our E46 in D-stock :dunno:

Yep I will be attending both days for sure. The lot is actually pretty good, a little on the smaller side, but the pavement is relatively smooth and flat compared to some of the other lots like Verona.
I might already have a co-driver both days, but I will confirm that in the next week or so. So if not, Channing you are welcome to co-drive the STi on Sunday if you would rather not run the E46.
