Yes, I am a redneck... - white_2kgt - 09-27-2004 I have a hitch on a mustang. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Few more pics here <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.2kgt.com/item.php?itemid=103">http://www.2kgt.com/item.php?itemid=103</a><!-- m --> Trailer mods being in a few weeks. For now I have to get the car back together. --chad - .RJ - 09-27-2004 I dont see a beer cooler on that trailer. Some weak ass redneck engjuneering
- ViPER1313 - 09-27-2004 I have one on the Taurus GL, and hate it, but IÔÇÖm too lazy to remove it. Only used the hitch once. The car is rated to tow ~1200pds, loaded up a U-hall trailer (1300+ by itself) with a jet-ski on its own trailer (Yes, we needed a trailer to tow the trailer - no registration/tags for it :roll: ) + tons of other stuff. Car handled it pretty well. Be careful backing down steep driveways - you will get chunks of pavement stuck in the end of the hitch :x . - white_2kgt - 09-27-2004 ViPER1313 Wrote:I have one on the Taurus GL, and hate it, but IÔÇÖm too lazy to remove it. I think the car would bottom out before the hitch hit anything. ![]() Ryan, beer cooler is in the back seat, no way I'm pulling over every time I run out! --chad - ScottyB - 09-27-2004 that's sweet man. how much does a kit like that run? (i'm assuming its a kit since you were assembling it in the first pic) do they make spinners in 8 inch diameter? - navin - 09-27-2004 *bling* - Ryan T - 09-27-2004 Your a civilized redneck, you actually did a clean, good install. A true red-blooded redneck would have used ducktape and fishing wire. - white_2kgt - 09-27-2004 ScottyB Wrote:that's sweet man. how much does a kit like that run? (i'm assuming its a kit since you were assembling it in the first pic) hitch was 100 and the trailer kit was 160, after diamond plate it's probably going to run me about 500 lol --chad - Ginger - 09-27-2004 You're my hero! - Dave - 09-28-2004 thats some good shizzle Chad. Now you just need some 22's and an airbag suspension for the trailer and you'll be good to go - Mike - 09-28-2004 Ryan T Wrote:ducktape duct you nubile... - Mike - 09-28-2004 chad, how much does the hitch itself weigh? i remember you saying it is a bolt-on affair? - white_2kgt - 09-28-2004 MichaelJComputer Wrote:chad, how much does the hitch itself weigh? i remember you saying it is a bolt-on affair? yes, it is a PAIN IN THE ASS bolt in. It weights about 10-15lbs. I will be leaving in on the car until I am ready to throw it in the garbage. --chad - Mike - 09-28-2004 10-15lbs, certainly doable... wonder if the hachi can tow a jetski
