1999 BMW M3 Silver/Black 5-speed 125k - RawrImAMonster - 04-22-2014 Selling my M3 now. Hopefully this sells as quickly as the Trans Am. I can give MM members a better price. PM if you're actually interested. http://www.vadriven.com/forums/import-e ... va-483322/ It really is a clean car. What I would do if I kept it: Cooling system refresh Replace window seal on drivers side rear window Bushing refresh in the shifter Everything else is fine. You get a little steering wheel wobble at 60+, but I really only notice it sometimes so it may just be the road I always drive on being uneven. Doesn't do it in all places on that road so who knows. I just haven't taken the time to look into it, because its not bad at all. Just being thorough for you all. Re: 1999 BMW M3 Silver/Black 5-speed 125k - Sully - 04-22-2014 I miss mine so bad ![]() The ridiculous unnecessary on board computer. The 1 million different manual seat adjustments. The over complex main vent with heat and cooling so you can heat while you cool or cool while you heat. The small cup holders that won't even hold a kids sized cup. The smell of 15 year old German leather. The sagging glove box. The never ending project but the pure bliss from being behind the wheel of one. I should but.... Really I shouldn't. This relationship is just too unhealthy. I can't <\3Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk Re: 1999 BMW M3 Silver/Black 5-speed 125k - RawrImAMonster - 04-28-2014 Looks like someone is flying up from Florida on Wednesday to pick this up. Not sure I'd make that far of a trip for an e36, but whatever I'm glad to sell it to him. Re: 1999 BMW M3 Silver/Black 5-speed 125k - davej - 04-28-2014 enthusiasts gonna enthusi. had a guy come from Pittsburgh for the XT and another from north PA somewhere for the S4. (not flordia far, but still burns a day on travel) you do get to hold just about all the cards when they do that though. on guy tried to give me a hard time about some wear, which was clearly in the photos/description and wanted to lower the price. 'nope, have a great trip home' put an end to it pretty quick. in other (stalkish) news, was that you in your 135 going thru the parking deck downtown friday a bit after 5? looked great! Re: 1999 BMW M3 Silver/Black 5-speed 125k - SlimKlim - 04-28-2014 Yea after my misguided E46 purchase I decided that when buying an old car you just have to budget travel as part of the expense. They made a gagillion E36s, but if you're looking specifically for an S52 silver/black, extremely clean, lowish mileage and totally stock example like this guy presumably is, it can be pretty damn hard to turn up what you want without having to buy a plane ticket. I think I was trying to find parking to go to the Bells event at downtown wine and gourmet. Should've just walked as downtown was packed at that point. Re: 1999 BMW M3 Silver/Black 5-speed 125k - RawrImAMonster - 04-30-2014 The guy from Florida took it. Back to one car again. Re: 1999 BMW M3 Silver/Black 5-speed 125k - *insertusernamehere* - 05-01-2014 Do you know if he made it? Didn't you have a bad thermostat? This is why I don't buy cars from fellow MMers anymore  The two times I did, the cars were total utter pieces of shit that I had to put a lot of time and effort into (and a little $$). Luckily flipped both for more money, but was an experience. Re: 1999 BMW M3 Silver/Black 5-speed 125k - RawrImAMonster - 05-01-2014 *insertusernamehere* Wrote:Do you know if he made it? Didn't you have a bad thermostat? Possibly, it got up to operating temp fine. A bad thermostat isn't going to hurt anything in the short term either way. We must have drove my grandads old jeep for years with a bad thermostat. I'm sure he did either way. There wasn't anything preventing that car from driving across the country as it was. D_Eclipse9916 Wrote:*insertusernamehere* Wrote:Do you know if he made it? Didn't you have a bad thermostat? Don't know that I would call an e36 that could use a cooling system refresh at some point in the future a piece of shit. Edit: Well all BMW's are pieces of shit so I guess it works  Re: 1999 BMW M3 Silver/Black 5-speed 125k - Jake - 05-01-2014 RawrImAMonster Wrote:Don't know that I would call an e36 that could use a cooling system refresh at some point in the future a piece of shit. There was this one white M3 that he bought... I remember that one. Yours was showroom-condition by comparison. (bring it to vir Re: 1999 BMW M3 Silver/Black 5-speed 125k - RawrImAMonster - 05-07-2014 The guy that bought it tells me today that the VA DMV mis-typed the VIN on the title when they issued it to me and switched a B for an 8. The DMV is such a terrible organization to deal with. I'm sure this is going to be fun getting it corrected. |
