No. VA area windshields / glass replacement - Evan - 03-13-2014

Anyone have any recommendations?

I picked up a nice long crack across the windshield, a week before my inspection was due. :finger:

safelite wants $550..... Im hoping thats not a typical price.

Hey whatever you find out let me know. I broke the windshield in my malibu too, trying to get that fuckin wiper transmission motor out

Evan,

In my experience, insurance will cover it and again, in my experience, it didn't affect my rate. Also, do your best to get OEM glass vs. a knockoff glass. I got a generic class in the F150 once and the optics were bad, and it chipped easier. The next time (yeah, yeah), I got Ford OEM and it was much better.

Need one for the Edge and we just did the Camry a couple months ago, both about $350 through Safelite. Still want to call around on the Edge, I'll let you know if I find something cheaper...

$500 deductible Sad (even after paying $340 a month premiums :evil: )
I talked to my agent and he said that they dont cover OE glass. (which is $850)

I didnt realize the cheap glass can have bad optics, that really sucks.

I've got a guy in Winchester that is really good and usually affordable (though obviously it depends on the vehicle) if you'd be willing to make a drive.

Heard plexiglass is pretty cheap nowadays.
