What kind of battery do you use? - Senor_Taylor - 01-29-2014 Went out to my truck today and I guess the cold has hit. Slow crank. I need to figure out what I want. I want an optima, but cant really afford onr right now and I've heard mixed reviews from Tacoma guys. I have a cb, amp, and a PA speaker pulling on it now and plan to add trail lights in the future so I need something good for deep cycle stuff. Trying not to break the bank and I'd love to pick it up near Harrisonburg. Suggestions? Re: What kind of battery do you use? - Apoc - 01-29-2014 You def want a yellow top. PM with the Optima you're looking for; I may have a deal for you. Re: What kind of battery do you use? - Sully - 01-29-2014 I run yellow tops in my truck and my s2000. I originally went yellow top on the truck because my audio system puts out 1000w to the sub's And 600w to the speakers RMS so it's probably peaking over 3000w and I have a lot of other electrical stuff including a winch in the bed. And she sits for long periods of time. I run the gm version with side posts because I have all my additional stuff on the top posts and the stock wiring on the side posts. I actually just replaced it after 4 years and I guess it's OK now. In the end it was getting real short between starts that it would die. I've also had occasional alternator issues and in those four years, I let the battery drain a bunch of times. It always kept up with the load I put on it though. I put a yellow top in the car because it sits a lot but I have both on trickle chargers now anyway. I think I have like $100 to my name now, but that beats getting stranded. Wouldn't you know it that it cranked perfectly the last 3 times before I replaced it... Re: What kind of battery do you use? - Sully - 01-29-2014 Bro, should have looked online. I normally go through apoc but I needed my last one quickly and I had just gotten another one through him so I looked online. Found a $50 coupon for advanced auto online purchases. Selected store pick up and 30 minutes later I had a yellow top for $180 with tax Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk Re: What kind of battery do you use? - Senor_Taylor - 01-29-2014 Sully Wrote:Bro, should have looked online. When I bought our Element... 4 years?.. ago I thought for sure it would need a new battery soon because it turned over pretty slow. Never replaced. Still turns over slow. :dunno: Sully Wrote:Found a $50 coupon for advanced auto online purchases.Advance Auto |
