Ryan and my new wrx - WREXTCY - 01-08-2014

My name is Ryan Kunde, I'm a junior Intelligence Analysis major. Used to be a music major until I got into this expensive hobby and wanted to get a job. Got into cars about 2 years ago, one day I just got the bug and suddenly was on forums 3-4 hours a day just researching everything that involved engines and racing. With that said I like it all; drag, rally, circut racing, stance, drifting, Formula 1, nascar. Mostly an import guy anything japanese for the most part, some euro, not too big on american cars, but I can respect anything built and fast.

Sold my honda at the end of thanksgiving break and have been looking around at wrxs since.

2002 WRX Sport Wagon 128k miles, all stock 1 previous owner

This was my honda, 2000 ex, jrsc w/ 8lb pulley, koni yellow/ground control

Then I got some sense in me and decided I needed not fwd, loved my honda, hated the honda scene.

There are already a few goodies on it, doesnt look quite the same as the pictures anymore.

Clean bugeye! I miss mine a little. Mostly the room in the back.

Anyway, Rex Approved™.

Re: Ryan and my new wrx - Jake - 01-08-2014

Love that you went with the wagon! We have a few Subaru folks around here so don't be shy in asking questions if you have any. Someone else has probably hooned it, broken it, and/or fixed it by now Big Grin

Hope to see you out at some events this spring, welcome!

Re: Ryan and my new wrx - SlimKlim - 01-08-2014

Welcome to MM! I'll always remember hooning Flint's bugeye around on a snow day. Good times.

You already made the baby.

Yeah, that's the point.

Welcome! Nice ride - as you can see there is a bit of Subaru love around here. I'm a wagon fan too, but am drinking the GM kool-aid heavily.

Re: Ryan and my new wrx - WREXTCY - 01-08-2014

Thanks everyone. Im definitely gonna come out to stuff this semester, especially autox because I really want to start getting seat time. As far as the wagon goes, I love it so much it was the best christmas present I've ever gotten myself haha! For the longest time I wasn't a big fan but they just started growing on me, plus there is no way to beat the practicality. There's so much room for activities!! I also snowboard a lot and have season passes to Snowshoe and Massanutten, any other skiiers/boarders?

Oh and also, anyone have a friend who knows a guys buddy that is selling a v2 accessport for this gen wrx?

Re: Ryan and my new wrx - ispoonwithmugen - 01-08-2014

Welcome! What year are you? I used to have the blue bugeye and I am also an IA major (along with finance). Clean wagon man, I've been debating selling my forester to grab a wagon instead!

Should never have bought an automatic forester to begin with!

Me, DJ, Mike D, David L, Rex I think. Not sure who else, but I'd be down for a Massanutten weekend with some JMU party-times in there.

Re: Ryan and my new wrx - JustinG - 01-08-2014

Welcome to the forum sir. I have fallen in love with Subarus prior to MY09 since buying my Forester XT. Wagon was a good choice, feel free to ask questions, there is a large knowledgbase for Subarus and Hondas here. Hell pretty much anything like Jake said, someone here has owned at some point and time.

Im a junior in status but this will be my second semester in IA, I'm leading towards the business side of things as well. And thanks, wagon mafia!

Re: Ryan and my new wrx - ScottyB - 01-08-2014

welcome! sweet bug, 120k is still plenty young for those things. as you can see, the subaru brethren run deep around here. you'll get lots of help if you ever have any issues with the car. go out and get it dirty!

well, take a lot of the subaru internet shenanigans with a grain of salt, because its quickly becoming the new Honda bro-scene. in fact a lot of subaru owners are coming straight from honda (no hate here, i did almost the same thing). still plenty of good scoob info and folks out there to drive with though!

Re: Ryan and my new wrx - rallywagongian - 01-08-2014

Woohoo some subaru love in harrisonburg! Welcome! I drive a 98 Legacy GT wagon. Got some big ol' Hella 500 lights on the front, can't miss me. Welcome!!!

Yeah, yeah I know. I'm starting to run into the same problem Jake had. Love the car just doesn't have any flavor I suppose.

I has season pass and go multiple times a week

Re: Ryan and my new wrx - WREXTCY - 01-09-2014

First off I must say this is absolutely the warmest welcome I've ever had to the many forums im a member of, then again there is obviously a bigger connection than just cars among us folk. I also work at the Advance Auto on S. Main part time to pay for go fast parts so stop by and I might be in there.

Yea I was looking at one with 103k but it sold from under my nose so I was kinda bummed. This one didnt have the 100k service done which is one of the reasons I got it for such a good price. She is actually currently at All Aspects Motorsports in chesapeake getting lots of routine maintenance so she'll last many a mile to come. Timing belt, water pump, idlers, tensioners, pcv assembly, valve covers, 1 step colder plugs, spark plug seals, cam and crank seals, few others iirc. Trust me, ill be doing donuts in dirt and snow every chance I get, treat this subie the way it should be Big Grin

Good deal, I made my schedule this semester so that I can snowboard as much as possible. Ill be there every monday night probably and another time or 2 during the week. Will do for sure, almost had to rip my hair out a few times last semester but I like it, it is very interesting. What year are you?

I worked at that same Advance Auto on S. Main in college!

Re: Ryan and my new wrx - WREXTCY - 01-09-2014

I definitely agree with the All Aspects praising, they aligned my civic this summer and I was very pleased with the prices and work. They also quoted me much less than everywhere else I was looking to get this 100k service done so it was a no brainer. It's also nice to go there and see bcoz racecars.
