WTB: Keg Shells - GregF - 09-07-2013
Im looking to buy a couple keg shells. Is anyone selling theirs or know where I can buy? OR, if anyone is willing to let me borrow theirs for a weekend (Sept 19th- 22nd), Id be forever in your debt + a case or two.

You "rent" it by placing a deposit on the shell. Forfeit your deposit if you don't return it.

Yea campus corner. And yea, at least last year, Natty and Yuengling (not the lager) was $70 and maybe lions head too.
The others are like $90 maybe for most domestics

Lost my 30 to campus corner, after I get it all done and paid for they tell me I get 10 days to bring it back for the deposit.
Tried to explain I wasn't the typically weekend party crowd and it was going in my house but no dice.
Now I go to mid-town across from the downtown parking deck. Lauren (owner) is real cool and knows beer.

Latest was $80 for a sixth of devils backbone. Not sure what solo cup beer runs, probably a bit more than campus corner but give em a call.
Edit: I'm no beer snob, I still get down with a bud light lime or 7 when its time to mow the grass

i have a free one sitting in my yard (arlington). it's full of lord knows what... was sitting in my garage when i moved in. i'm guessing it's 10+ years old. if you want, i'll pm you my address, but i move out at the end of the month so time is of the essence.

I appreciate the offer but 4 hours round trip negates any savings for us. Thanks for the offer though.

Just ordered a sixth (5 gallons) of Sam Adams Octoberfest for 72 from there (Midtowne). Cheaper than what other local places quoted me. Not well known, but you can order kegs from Billy Jacks too. They have the license you need for it from the growlers business.

I checked out campus corner yesterday and theyve definitely switched it up from last year. A keg of natty, busch and the like are all ~$74 with tax, but they want $100 cash deposit on the keg. If you return it within a week they give you $90 back. I almost shit myself when she told me.

Must have finally done the math that no one was returning their shells. Not sure how keg shells work with distributors but I guess they were either losing money or found another way to skim some money
