Ordered, in green. I've been around that tree too much between working and driving.

Re: "Remember the Oak Tree" T-shirt - JPolen01 - 07-14-2013

People can find a way to make money in any situation. Thumbs up to them for the thought.

Re: "Remember the Oak Tree" T-shirt - Sully - 07-14-2013

Will be ordering one in grey and one in green (either once shipping price is fixed or when I stop caring about the extra $2, probably by tomorrow night) and then hoping blipshift also does a tribute to the tree.

A user gave blipshift the idea like the day it happened and they said they were already considering it so if they don't make one, id be shocked

Re: "Remember the Oak Tree" T-shirt - G.Irish - 07-15-2013

That seems like kind of a shit deal. $200 gift certificate for work on spec. Why not at least give the winner cash?

Re: "Remember the Oak Tree" T-shirt - Sully - 07-15-2013

I wish they would just design it. Most of the designs in the last voting were crap and when you leave it up to the people, they will pick stupid shit every time (especially when voting isnt fair and anybody can vote meaning people will just have their friends rocket their shit design)

Re: "Remember the Oak Tree" T-shirt - JustinG - 07-15-2013

Says the design has to be approved by the staff and TMI. So lets hope TMI doesnt allow some dumbass design.

Re: "Remember the Oak Tree" T-shirt - Jewels - 07-15-2013

Speaking of TMI. They own the VIR store now, so go in there and check it out, its supposed to be pretty nice. They dumped a good bit of money into it.

Re: "Remember the Oak Tree" T-shirt - JustinG - 07-15-2013

Well the $100 credit doesn't seem as bad of a deal now. Assuming you frequent VIR.

Re: "Remember the Oak Tree" T-shirt - JustinG - 07-15-2013

I keep envisioning a couple of views for the Tshirt.

Something like this pic with a fuller view of the tree, but showing the armco/tires and the flagger bucket with the station 11 sign. Port O Pottie not required With a simple "Oak Tree, 7-2-13". None of that never forget/RIP garbage.

Or the entry into oak tree. Like this...

But a windshield view from the race car, showing like the rear view mirror and a drivers reflection in the mirror.

I like my first idea the best cause to me it shows everything awesome about Oak tree. How close the armco/flagger/tree is to the track. and people who visit the track will know it is station 11.

No idea how to put it on paper though. Thoughts?

The current entries look like shit whipped up in MS paint with clip art. And I personally think Sacha's design is too busy.

Re: "Remember the Oak Tree" T-shirt - Sully - 07-15-2013

Designed by a friend of MM (well I guess technically she's one of us, right?)

Vote for Sacha's design if you like it. I think it is miles ahead of anything on there currently.

Edit: Justin, I agree her's is a little too busy but until you post your's  , the rest of the designs look like shit so I'm going with her's for now

http://bit.ly/15yy6w0

EDIT Edit: Justin, I would like your second idea for sure if it had the mirror and the drivers helmet and maybe some roll bar caging in the a-pillars to drive home the race car thing and then incorporate the text from your first idea and maybe throw the VIR logo on it somewhere if VIR is approving it anyway

Re: "Remember the Oak Tree" T-shirt - JustinG - 07-15-2013

Attn Scotty, make my idea some to life.

Re: "Remember the Oak Tree" T-shirt - JPolen01 - 07-15-2013

If you do one, please leave out RIP NEVER FORGET etc. This isn't a person, a picture will do just fine. It looks so tacky/cheesy with RIP everywhere.

Re: "Remember the Oak Tree" T-shirt - ScottyB - 07-15-2013

very tempted, but yeah spec work contests are fun and pain in the ass at the same time. i have some ideas i'll try to put together before the contest closes out.

Re: "Remember the Oak Tree" T-shirt - JustinG - 07-15-2013

I just want an outline of this pic (tree, armco, tires, bucket, and track) minus the ariel.

Re: "Remember the Oak Tree" T-shirt - Sully - 07-15-2013

Why don't you just get the other shirt then? Scotty, do your design or Justin's second idea. His first one is pretty much already done.
