Deer at Summit Point - G.Irish - 06-24-2013

So as many of you are aware, there was another deer strike at Hyperfest this year. Scary though that was, it turned out there were other deer strikes this season at a car weekend. Today I found out that one of the bike race groups had 2 strikes in one weekend this year. Thankfully the worst injury was a broken collarbone.

So this was from Hyperfest: <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0TS0Ve1sUL8&list=HL1372091073">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0TS0Ve1s ... 1372091073</a><!-- m -->

This is a bike strike in 2010: <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WAUdYMaFauw&list=HL1372091073">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WAUdYMaF ... 1372091073</a><!-- m --> Confusedhock:

Suffice it to say I'm thinking I may not be running bikes at Summit in the near the future. For the rest of you guys, be aware. Or bring your silenced rifles to the track on Friday and do some culling...

Re: Deer at Summit Point - Kaan - 06-24-2013

its a hunted area BUT its close to the state lines so its probably not heavily hunted. Also i'm not if they are allowing people to come in and thin the herds on summit itself. its funny that VIRs property is just as large (or larger) and is also close to the state lines... but doesnt seem to have deer problems at all.

friday night leaving hyperfest one of the tow rigs headed to the hotel clipped a deer on the way out. broke the deers leg didnt do anything to the trucks push bumper.
