I know some of you guys have some GoPro's for race footage. How do you guys store it? I saw Pelican has a nice case but I'm not really looking to blow the bank. Any cheap options that you guys know of?

Why do you need a case? Doesn't the gopro come in some kind of plastic casing already?

I don't own a gopro so I'm not sure of the durability of the standard case

Yeah just using the regular ol' case here.... I want to get the GP2 and then use the skelton case + external mic when I get some more $.

Re: GoPro storage - ispoonwithmugen - 04-17-2013

I'm not talking cases. I'm talking a backback, a storage bag, a metal case. Something of the sort.

Ahh. Are you feeling that it isn't protected enough in a normal backpack?

Yep. I have a Lowerpro backpack for my DSLR and a few lens. But the backpack is overcrowded now. I'd like to keep the lowerpro for my DSLR. Leaving me with something to store 2 gopros, every accessory (including 2 suction cup mounts), and extra cases and batteries elsewhere.

Anybody messed with Serpac? Someone recommended that on another forum.

I'm going to try this out. I'll let you guys know how it turns out.

I just use a messanger bag... it holds the gopro, the chargers, extra batteries, the still shot camera, the batteries for that, memory cards, etc.

^lol

Re: GoPro storage - Mike - 04-18-2013

i use my camera bag because that's the logical place to put a camera. maybe you need a larger one or to thin out what you take with you in your bag? a large, waterproof, metal case doesn't seem like the best solution to put something that takes up a few square inches (including accessories).

Re: GoPro storage - Evan - 04-18-2013

I use a small, cheap pelican case for my contour stuff. ill probably get something a little bigger for my hero3 since it and all the mount takes up more space
