2005 Jeep Wrangler 4x4 Rubicon - Jason08 - 04-16-2013

Posting this up for a good friend. He's the second owner of this Jeep, and he's had it for about 13 months. Its bone stock with about 100k miles. It's in great shape. It’s listed for $14,500, but he’s willing to negotiate for a hassle free sale. Please see the craigslist ad below (*he's located in Reston, VA).

I thought it was over priced but Im not sure of the true market value of those rubicons so I didnt want to say anything.

Pretty on par for the market. Rubi's are mad espensive.. Make it an LJ(long wheel base).. that's the unicorn of Rubicons.

Re: 2005 Jeep Wrangler 4x4 Rubicon - premiershine9 - 04-17-2013

Jeep TJ's- even the original sport models- '02 and lower are found cheap- the 03 and up ESPECIALLY the Rubi's with the D44 (CHYEAA) are holding their value extremely well. If I ever got back into a TJ, it'd be a 50-65k manual Rubi in the 04 and up range.

Don't know if I could pull the trigger and switch to the JK side...

Re: 2005 Jeep Wrangler 4x4 Rubicon - Jason08 - 04-17-2013

I know that my buddy is willing to negotiate. I honestly haven't had the time to do the research to determine what a good price for these are. I do know that its in great shape and it might be worth looking at if you're considering a jeep.

I feel ya but I do think the JKs look really good when done up right.

Neither do I- unless its obviously modded for play- I occasionally scroll the Project-JK forum to see whats up with that crowd, maybe some day i'll catch the itch

Just an FYI the '05-'06 have a small issue. its fairly easy to detect and even Doorman (autozone brand) upgraded all their replacement parts to fix it: http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f9/2005- ... e-1144202/

That being said... the 05-06 TJ/LJ are the most saught after jeeps right now. This jeep has the Benz 6 speed in it (very reliable) mated to the very reliable 4.0L. Since its a Rubicon it has the 4:1 transfer case, air lockers, and wouldnt need a SYE if you were to lift it.

I've seen jeeps of this year with a $300 Rough Country (2.5 inch lift), 1 inche body lift ($100), Skid Row engine skid ($300), wheels and 33 inch tires ($1k) take on the best the east coast has to offer for 4 wheeling.

edit: it has MOAB wheels on it now, so you wont need to go to the heavy black steel wheels, these have good offset for 31-33 inch tires.
