02 Porsche Carrera Correctional - premiershine9 - 03-08-2013

Hey all-

Haven't had time to document my work recently, will document more once April and May roll around before I relocate.

Up here is a Carrera with significant defects- marring, heavy swirling and the drivers door which was burned and unfinished from a body shop- you'll see the pics.

Correctional was performed over two days and took around 15 hours to complete.

Equipment used:
- FLEX DA
- RUPES 21
- PC 7424
- various pads- yellow/ green foam and Surbuf R
- M105, Menz SIP, Sonax PF

LSP applied- two coats of Menzerna PL

Interior was given a Full Basic treatment- interior carpet and mats exracted, leather conditioned with Leatherique overnight and all the hard plastic cleaned and degreased.

that door is painful to look at.

i'm still pretty sure you are skilled in the arts of witchcraft and magic. what a turnaround.

Re: 02 Porsche Carrera Correctional - premiershine9 - 03-08-2013

^^^^ I literally never get time to take care of my own car- the Passat is due for a major claying/ one stepper and finally a thick coating application like opti coat or another ceramic coating.

You should've seen the front end- this was from coming back up from WV and the MM Ski trip

Re: 02 Porsche Carrera Correctional - kcook - 03-08-2013

love these threads. I want another detail this spring. Can we set something up?

Re: 02 Porsche Carrera Correctional - WRXtranceformed - 03-13-2013

You are still planning on moving down to Raleigh / Durham right? If so I will make a day trip up there for your service at some point this year Smile My paint isn't that bad, but it is close.

Do you have experiencing buffing / waxing around areas that have been hit with Plastidip? I am worried about it ripping off during the process

Yes, whether or not that will be in May or later in the year will depend upon finding an internship there

Unfortunately, I haven't had experience with plasti dip- generally, as I do with any graphics/ clear film material, I simply mask off the outer most edge- would you say the coating would be harmed if I were to apply tape to it? For reference I am using 3M green. I can do some research as well.

Re: 02 Porsche Carrera Correctional - WRXtranceformed - 03-13-2013

I don't think tape will hurt it. I can always touch it up if it gets pulled off!
