water on the keyboard - bluhayz - 09-19-2004 So, in my drunken stupor last night.... I ended up spilling water on my keyboard... It was all because I couldn't hold the glass upright. So, I woke up this morning... and my keyboard is making this beeping noise whenever I push the keys in. It's a wireless keyboard, so I'm wondering what you all think. I went out and bought a cheap walmert keyboard for 10 bucks and I'm just hoping that if I let my keyboard dry, it'll be fine. Just looking to see if this is a waste or not. Thanks. - Ryan T - 09-19-2004 spilled water......suuuuuuure. haha, jp. I spilled "coke" on my keyboard last year and had to buy a new one. - .RJ - 09-19-2004 bong water maybe? - JackoliciousLegs - 09-19-2004 or he pissed on it. - Myuki - 09-19-2004 sounds like you shorted the keyboard, the beeps mean it's not reading it right......a new one may be in order - Evan - 09-19-2004 Ive done this many times. Unplug it, shake all the water out, let it dry for a day or two (upside down), plug it back in and there is a good chance that it will work fine. - bluhayz - 09-19-2004 sweet, I'll try that... and it was just regular water... in a glass w/ ice. - .RJ - 09-19-2004 Ice in your bong? Good call. - Ryan T - 09-19-2004 .RJ Wrote:Ice in your bong? Good call. put ginger ale in your bong, mmmmmm. - CaptainHenreh - 09-19-2004 I read your kb is wireless. It's probably fucked. If it were a wired keyboard, you could set it out to dry. Hell, I've washed my keyboard in the dishwasher. BUt a wireless one? I have my doubts. - Feersty - 09-19-2004 CaptainHenreh Wrote:Hell, I've washed my keyboard in the dishwasher. Does this work? Mine is so damn dirty. - CaptainHenreh - 09-20-2004 Feersty Wrote:CaptainHenreh Wrote:Hell, I've washed my keyboard in the dishwasher. Depends on the keyboard. At a place where I used to work (we processed used PC parts) we'd throw them in the dishwasher (after covering up the plug) and if they worked after coming out, we kept them. If they didn't, we took the keys off and threw them away. IF your KB is really dirty, I'd do that. Take the keys off, put them in a cleaing solution. |
