Eh, it was inevitable. I figured they were going to butcher it.When they go on sale I'd be curious to see the XJ parked next to one for comparison. It will be disappointing.

so its only a cherokee if its based on an ancient truck frame with an equally ancient engine that gets 15mpg?
is it only a cherokee if it creaks and squeaks more than an antique house and has the all the chassis composure of a wet carboard box?

Time for my twice monthly visit to MM!
I was a little disappoint in the looks I was hoping for some thing a little more...masculine I guess. As I said on facebook I am sure they focus grouped the shit out of this thing and they have a good idea it will appeal to the real target group...20 something women. I know it is not a Compass replacement but the Compass does rather well (in sales) on its MPG merits and this new Cherokee as a similar look to the Compass/Grand. People are buying this sort of thing these days, small curvy SUVs with wild design concepts. I hope it pays off.
