My flight out of San Diego was leaving @ 7am on America West this morning, which means I needed to be at the airport by 6 am. Of course, since it was the last night in SD we went out. Late. And got shitfaced. 3 of us took down a half of a handle of Captain Morgan before we left and then kept on going till last call at 2am, and then on to some after hours club.
I got in around 4 am, took a shower, changed, and finished packing (most of it was done before I went out) and thought I could just ride it out until the hotel shuttle left at 5:45 or so, but I fell asleep and slept through my wake up call and the alarm.... Woke up @ 6:20, gave the guy $10 and told him to haul ass to the airport. Well I didnt make it, no check-ins within a half hour of the flight. Fuck, I'm a dumbass.
So they got me on the next flight a bit after 8am, no big deal right? Well that plane was delayed. Then cancelled as they had to send another plane out of Phoenix to go back to Phoenix to get on another plane to Dulles. But the problem is, the new flight would not have made it in time for the connecting flight to Dulles, so they put me on a non stop flight with United instead, that left at 1pm. Then I got flagged for security interrogation so they could search me, my bags, and give me a hard time. They're just doing their job, but it is a pain in the ass.
So after I get to Dulles at 9pm right coast time, they didnt have my bags. Those ended up on some different America West flight to Dulles that landed an hour after mine. Who knows... but I got them, and got home about 10:30.
Now I'm driving off to BWI to work in Baltimore for the next 2 weeks, and we need to be at work at 7:15 tomorrow morning... shit.
If I'd just made my goddamn flight I would have been home at 4pm.... but that wouldnt have been any fun with a head-pounding hangover.
