damn, that was a hard hit

- Evan - 09-17-2004

ugh.
the driver of this most recent accident is in critical condition
high speed driver-side side impact.
That kind of accident scares the shit out of me, especially in my miata.

- Ryan T - 09-17-2004

Maybe if he had been paying attention and saw the big green TRUCK coming at him, that would have never happened.

- ScottyB - 09-17-2004

damn right to the drivers side. hope that person is ok. i can't believe that happened right there on tape...i guess there will definitely be a traffic light going in there...

on a side note, im with Thayer on this one. that person should have seen that huge, green truck coming. even with the van passing by, it passed fast enough that he/she had time to see the truck coming.

- bluhayz - 09-17-2004

wow... crazy.

- Feersty - 09-17-2004

The stop sign was huge. She didn't look well enough.

The entire point of the news bit was that the traffic traveling without the stopsign is a 55mph zone. Add 10-15 mph on to that, and you might not see a car coming either if you are at that stop sign.

Watching the video, when the car leaves the stopsign, the truck is very hard to see.

- Ryan T - 09-17-2004

What I'm saying is that the driver stopped at the stop sign which is like 15 feet from the road. The driver needs to pull on up closer to the road to look for traffic instead of just bolting out into traffic.

geezus

- BLINGMW - 09-18-2004

Damn! Bonus points to that reporter for making his point clear! Confusedhock:

.....Bruce Almighty?

- ViPER1313 - 09-18-2004

Anyone consider that the drivers might have been looking at the reporter and not the road, causing the crash?

- bassmangrammy - 09-19-2004

Damn. Damn. I had to just look at the photos not the video. It's so scary to think about when I was rearended in my Legacy and all the problems I'm having with my neck. My heart goes out to the guy in the car. Was it a Volvo S40?

- Ryan T - 09-19-2004

I think it was a Honda Accord.

I did, perhaps the news company will have a lawsuit on their hands...

- BLINGMW - 09-19-2004

oh yeah. That'd be a good one. "Your honor, my client suffers from acute rubbernecking syndrome. He COULD NOT avoid looking at the news crew!"

hehe. tis the world we live in...
