My Sunday Trip - Supra/Viper content - Goodspeed - 12-03-2012

So, yesterday I drove up to the Philly area to attend the end-of-year meet put on by the Northeast region Supraforums group. Cars and people from all over met at Undercover Performance, a multi-faceted shop that does a lot of regional Supra work, but does also, as you'll see, turbo Buicks, domestics and even classic car restorations.

We then caravan'd for about 45 minutes to a steak restaurant and the show's location. I rode there in the black Viper GTS ACR and back in a 600whp single turbo Supra :twisted: . Definitely a worth-while trip.

I took too many pics to post all of them, but a smattering below - all of them here.

I'll single this one out for its extreme rarity - a bone stock, '98 Quicksilver FX Turbo 6 speed. Exactly the kind of car that may bring beaucoup bucks at Barrett Jackson in 20 years, if the market goes that way.

oh damn. i was going to quote a couple cars that really stood out until i realized they all stand out.

how did you like the ride in the GTS? i had a ride in an RT/10 a few years ago and they're comically built but just a total rush at speed.

Scotty - you know, I got in thinking I'd be simultaneously rattled and burned to death, but it was - surprisingly - cozy and comfortable. I didn't even singe myself on anything, if thats a testament to a positive Viper experience. I could of kept right on going in comfort honestly. It was stock save for a ludicrous stereo and a Borla exhaust, and yeah - I had happy tears every time he jammed the loud pedal.

That 98 Quicksilver is clean as fawkkk. Any idea on mileage? And I second Scotty's comments on riding in an rt10. I rode in a convertible srt10 2 summers ago and it is nothing but unmatched power. I had to check my surroundings because looking at the dash, I thought I was in a 1500 Ram.

Driving the RT-10 that I had worked on made me fall in love with its primitive-ness. The GTS is the car that made me into a crazed car enthusiast when I was little and hence it has special value to me, but my heart still lies with the GTS....can't wait till the new Viper becomes a year old- the GTS will continue to drop in price........... and looking more like a possibility of owning one a couple years out of school Wink

64k. I know it might be hard to see the script in the pic, but the yellow RT/10 was a Hennessey Venom 1000 T/T.
