MM Snowboard/ Ski Trip! - premiershine9 - 11-28-2012
Hello there MM'ers
The officers and I are going to begin hammering out details and pull the trigger on meeting dates etc. over the xmas break so that next semester is even better than this past fall!
I would love to organize a MM Ski/ Snowboard trip to Massanutten or possibly Wintergreen. I generally go at least 1 to 2 times a week to board and think this would be a great social event!

I already have my season pass to MassOfNothing and I usually go 1 to 2 times a week also. Also to other people, I have a guy who has a crazy deal on Von Zipper goggles right now if anybody needs new goggles. Oh and yes I'm in.

Sure- just putting this out there for a feeler and to generate ideas- I'm obviously not local so besides Snowshoe, Bryce, Wintergreen and Mass of nothing I honestly don't know too many more

Excellente- I know mass of nothing isn't exactly the shiz but it is close to JMU and would be easy for current members

We did a Massofnothing trip once with MM my senior year and everyone had a really good time. I think we did night passes on a like... Wednesday. They were cheap and we were there from 6-10 or so.
I'd be down for a weekend trip somewhere more entertaining (even Wintergreen) so if that pans out, count me in.

I'd be down for Canaan or Snowshoe fo' sho', assuming conditions are decent. On a weekday maybe I could do Massanutten but that'd be more of a stretch for me.
As far as the weekend, early January may be tough because I'm getting married on the 20th the last weekend of January on would be good.

Great guys- thanks for all the input! If anything we will for sure do 1 or 2 nights locally during student nights- what you were touching upon Jake! And then we could always plan one trip and grab a cabin or something and round up 20 plus people- that would be awesome!

Yeah I might be down as well, Canaan is nice. Pretty much since I was born my family would rent a house there for thanksgiving, so needless to say I like it. However Massofnothing is nice because it's so close haha

Just picked me up some new goggles and so did Chris Lu. Somehow Chris found out about this, the guy said I could tell whoever so I will tell you guys. They aren't stolen (lol), he said his brother is a distributor for Von Zipper and these were samples so they are extra cheap.

His brother commented on the post and I clicked on his profile and it says he works for Von Zipper. Also this kid was wearing Von Zipper sunglasses and a Von Zipper t shirt, haha. So I think it's definitely legit, that and he had the actual catalog lol.

I'd be down for a ski trip! Snowshoe and Canaan Valley will for sure have snow it was 8 degrees and heavy snow up there last year while we got nothing in the Valley. There is also Wisp, Maryland too. Never been there but have heard its good.

Down for Snowshoe or Canaan. Wisp skiing is awful. The houses for rent there are freaking beast though. We rented one a while back and it had even its own 20 person hot tub in the basement.

Going to begin getting this trip hammered out along with a date set soon as I said in the recent e-mail I sent out not too long ago.
Looks like everyones in for a WV trip to Canaan....yes?
Would be awesome to get a decent sized house and have everyone contribute- MM cabin and shenanigans!

Snowshoe had decent snow this past weekend when I was there, and is getting more snow this week. Peter Denbigh can probably comment more on Canaan, but they were not even open yet as far as I knew.
Either way, I agree, let's get moving on it if it is going to happen.
