Nick P - petersnk - 11-13-2012 What up guys. My names Nick and Im a Junior CIS major. Im interested in joining MM because I love cars and I've heard good things from my friend Kristin. I've done all the work to all the cars I have owned myself and that's about as far as my knowledge of cars goes. I currently drive a 2007 Mazdaspeed 3 that I have just started doing some work to. Before this car Ive had a civic, a celica gt-s, and Gti, and a maxima was my very first whip. I look forward to meeting some people and seeing whats up. Re: Nick P - CaptainHenreh - 11-13-2012 What color is your speed3? I still sort of miss mine.
Re: Nick P - petersnk - 11-13-2012 Black Re: Nick P - Jake - 11-13-2012 Hey Nick, welcome! I'm a fan of Speed3's... post some pix when you get a chance
Re: Nick P - SlimKlim - 11-13-2012 Funny, when we were shopping for Lauren's car we drove a black 2007 Speed3 on a lot in H-burg. So... sorry if your front right tire has less tread than the others.... I was just looking at these for myself, but I think they are a little out of my price range for a 2nd car. They all seem to hover around $15-16k, making the cheaper ones look pretty suspicious. Re: Nick P - D_Eclipse9916 - 11-13-2012 Welcome, with all these new members, I hope we get a chance to meet a lot of you for go-karting! Re: Nick P - petersnk - 11-13-2012 I bought this is Harrisonburg so its probably the same exact one your talking about. They were asking 19,000 and i bought it for 15,500 with 30,000 miles on it. It already has magnaflow exaust system and ive just started slowing merking it out myself and im going to start doing more modifications soon. Re: Nick P - CaptainHenreh - 11-13-2012 Wait, did you buy it from City Motors? Re: Nick P - SlimKlim - 11-13-2012 I think the one I abused was at VA Auto Sales, not sure if that's the right dealer. They are on 42 just north of downtown on the right hand side of the road if you're heading north. They carry a lot of trucks that they park on the front line and obscure the rest of their inventory for some reason. Re: Nick P - petersnk - 11-13-2012 ^^^ This guy is 100% correct. They were asking way way too much for the car and i offered him the kbb value of the car. I guess he decided he needed to get rid of it and get more trucks. I love the car though. Its basically brand new. Not nearly as much lag as my Mk4 gti. The only complaint I have is the crazy amount of uncontrollable wheel spin. Wish i could afford AWD

Post some pictures! Re: Nick P - TorinoCobra070 - 11-15-2012 Welcome and +juan on the pictars Re: Nick P - petersnk - 11-19-2012 Hey I will post some pictures when I get home from break, I live in texas so Im here till Friday. On a second note, I'm about to paint my rims black and my calipers red here this weekend. Ive done the calipers on all my cars but ive never painted rims although I have a fairly good of how to do it correctly. Does anyone have any advice or tips for me ? :?: Re: Nick P - Jake - 11-19-2012 petersnk Wrote:Hey I will post some pictures when I get home from break, I live in texas so Im here till Friday. Check out my Miata thread (link in my signature), I did a spray-paint job on my K1's. Take the wheels off the car, leave the car on good jack stands. Use index cards to prevent overspray onto your tires. Just stick them between the wheel and tire. Typical spray-paint prep work applies here. Several light coats > one heavy coat. Let them dry for a long time (overnight is best, but you can do 4-5 hours if you must) and put back on the car. Nick P - JPolen01 - 11-19-2012 You can also try plastidip that way you can return them to stock if need be. Re: Nick P - petersnk - 11-20-2012 Thanks guys. I've decided to go with gunmetal just because i like the way it looks with black. Im going to do it saturday morning just in time before i get back to jmu. I hope for it to look like this when im done http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2640/584 ... 6532a9.jpg  Re: Nick P - premiershine9 - 11-20-2012 Looks sick!! |
